A clear plastic lid allows the consumer to inspect the ice cream before purchase, a nice touch as it is nice to see what we are purchasing before we bring it home. When the container is opened, a strong vanilla aroma escapes from the tub, coupled with a sweet sugary smell and a slight hint of toffee. A couple of weekends ago, we decided to stay in on Saturday and spend a lazy day watching DVDs and playing on the computer or games console. By mid-afternoon I was getting itchy feet and decided to visit our local farm shop, situated a mile or so away, to see what goodies they had on offer. I have long been a fan of the different flavours of luxury ice cream that can be purchased from the farm shop, in particular a variety made by Farmer Bills, a farm local to us, situated in the small village of Colne Engaine.
