Mars Bounty Ice Cream
Advantages: Its a light, fluffy and refreshing ice cream!
Disadvantages: Absolutely none for me!
I really fancied an ice cream the other day but I wanted to try something different as I always buy Magnums which are thick, rich and sometimes too creamy for an Ice Cream. I wanted something a little lighter and refreshing yet still fancied chocolate too, don't want much now do I.
I was nosing in the freezer in my local newsagents and spotted Bounty Ice Cream, the packaging is a cool blue and snow white, looked cooling and refreshing enough so decided to give it a try.
The wrapper it comes in has the same colour theme of actual Bounty bars, so very easily recognised. A picture of a bitten lolly is on the corner of the packet and Bounty Ice Cream is written next to a palm tree and half a coconut. Bet you can't guess what this ice cream tastes like.
Taking it out of the packet I noticed it's shaped almost exactly like a magnum, it comes on a wooden stick with a wide enough space for my fat fingers to hold onto comfortably. It's a chunky sized ice cream with a chocolate shell coating it.
I bit into the chocolate shell and it snapped satisfyingly, it's a lighter chocolate than that you get on magnums and tastes exactly like the chocolate you get on a Bounty bar. Tasty and chocolatey but not too rich or creamy, it's just right with all the right sweetness and tastes as well as being smooth too. I noticed how white the ice cream was and give it a little lick. It was a soft, fluffy and extremely light ice cream but this was different to any other ice creams I've tried like this. Smoothing my lips over the ice cream it continued to be smooth, tasty and light and it tasted just like refreshing coconut but evenly spread throughout the ice cream was little pieces of coconut. It is as if the inside of a Bounty Chocolate Bar has been sprinkled into this ice cream, stirred and mixed in and then formed into it's shape. The bits of coconut add a lovely bitty texture and they mix so well with the smooth luscious ice cream.
It is a very tasty ice cream yet surprisingly light and refreshing too perfect for a hot summers day and it provides you with a sweet chocolate kick too.
Each of these lollies contains;
It cost me over a £1 for one lolly in my local newsagents but I have seen them sold in boxes too, although when I had a look in Sainsburys the other day I couldn't see any so can't comment on price!
Summary: A tasty ice cream, not as rich or heavy as the likes of Magnum!
