      A TASTY TREAT

As well as producing delicious chocolate bars, Galaxy offers chocolate desserts. *Product* This is the Galaxy Caramel Chocolate Pot which is caramel sauce topped with chocolate mousse and pieces of Galaxy Ripple. *Packaging* The desserts come in little plastic pots which are see through. There is a plastic peel off lid on top. The pots are then kept together by a cardboard sleeve which is very Galaxy in appearance as it is a rich brown with golden undertones. The cardboard sleeve offers us the brand name and product and also a description and delightful image. There is also an ingredients list, nutritional information and details of how to contact Galaxy. *The Dessert* From the outside of the pot, you can see the actual dessert portion. The bottom half is made up of approx 25% of thin, golden caramel and like that of a Galaxy Caramel bar. The middle is approx 50% of a little chocolate mousse. The remaining 25% is made up of a mixture of large and smaller pieces of Galaxy Ripple. *Ingredients and Allergy Advice* Chocolate Mousse (48%):,Whole Milk, Cream, Dark Chocolate (14%) (Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Milk Fat, Flavouring), Sugar, Water ,Galaxy® Milk Chocolate (4%) (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Skimmed Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Lactose, Vegetable Fat, Whey Powder, Milk Fat ,Emulsifiers: Soya Lecithin, E476, Water, Flavouring), Free Range Pasteurised Egg Whites, Stabilisers: Tapioca Starch, Pectin ,Free Range Pasteurised Egg Yolk, Cocoa Powder, Emulsifier: E472b ,Caramel Sauce (32%): ,Galaxy® Caramel (70%) (Glucose Syrup, Sugar, Water, Vegetable Fat, Skimmed Milk Powder, Milk Fat, Lactose, Whey Powder, Salt ,Flavouring), Water, Sugar, Stabilisers: Pectin, Xanthan Gum, Colour: Caramilised Sugar Syrup ,Galaxy® Ripple (20%): ,Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Skimmed Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Lactose, Vegetable Fat, Whey Powder, Milk Fat Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin ,E442, E476), Natural Vanilla Extract. Suitable for vegetarians. *Nutrition* Each 64g pot contains : 228 kcal 23.8g sugar 7.8g saturated fat 0.2g salt *Availability and Price* I purchased my pots in Tesco for £1 (rrp £1.79). This is a pack of 2 pots. I have yet to see them available in Asda. *My Opinion* I have a very sweet tooth (much to the annoyance of my dentist) and usually opt for a nice bar of chocolate. For me it has to be Cadbury or Galaxy. I have never been overly keen on chocolate mousses as I always felt let they leave a weird aftertaste but feelings aside, I spotted these on offer whilst doing my Tesco online shop and they were delivered only 2hours ago! One for me and one for the hubby. The first thing that shocked me is the size..they pots are so small though believe me this is enough to satisfy. I was quite impressed at the Ripple topping as I didn't actually read the description before I bought to that was a nice surprise for me. I tried all three parts separate and together. The Ripple - plenty of it..lots of delicious and quite large pieces of Galaxys answer to a Flake. These bits were delicious and creamy and just like eating a normal Ripple. Being in the fridge, they were slightly harder than normal but still very melt in the mouth. The Mousse - the mousse was by far the biggest part of the pot. It was light and moist and very rich. It was quite bubbly and therefore did not feel heavy going down my throat. It left a pleasant, chocolate after taste which was not synthetic and fake like some cheaper mousses are. The caramel - by far the best bit of the dessert. The caramel was runny and deliciously sweet. \I feel that it finished off the dessert nicely and there was just the perfect amount. The 3 layers mixed together provided a very satisfying treat for after my lunch. The size was just enough to allow the dessert to be delicious but not overpoweringly sickly which is always a bonus. At £1 for 2 I feel this is a good offer but unless I was taking something for a dessert to some one elses home, I don't feel I could justify spending £1.79. Try them for yourself...thanks for reading.
