Being on a diet (well, half heartedly, I keep lapsing!) I try and avoid the sections of the supermarkets selling anything chocolate-y or dessert-like in an attempt to boost my will power, which usually is, at best, pretty shocking. However when I was in Sainsbury's yesterday having a mooch at some rather bland looking low fat yoghurts, my eye was drawn to some Weight Watchers chocolate mousse. They were £1 for 2 and only contained 106 calories. Not too bad I thought, until I noticed a pack of 4 Aero mousses sitting on the shelf below for only 57p. I glanced at the back of the pack, presuming they would be calorific and was surprised to see there's only 98 calories per pot. Less than 15p a pot and less calories than Weight Watchers? What's the catch? Anyway, the WW version was quickly tossed back from whence it came and we bought the Aero ones instead.

The four 59g pots were packaged and kept together with just a bit of cardboard (albeit decorative cardboard) which made me feel even more virtuous, they were also good for the environment! Well...kind of, apart from the plastic tubs they actually come in but Nestle have done their best.

When you first peal back the lid, the mousse looks all smooth and creamy. It's really thick as mousse should be, so much so that you can stand your spoon up in it. Nestle describes it as a "bubbly dessert" which I don't quite understand but it is thick and creamy. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Aero chocolate bars I found the chocolate taste delicious. It's quite rich without being too sickly and it really did feel like I was eating something indulgent and calorie laden which is so surprising for something that only has 98 calories in it.

The only problem I have with this mousse is that it's not overly filling, but then most desserts of this nature aren't. I could easily have more than one but so far my will power is winning that battle.

I am so pleased with these little mousses and don't feel the need to even try the WW version as I'm guessing they aren't a patch on these.

Advantages -

- Cheap

Disadvantages
