Yummy and at 69p for 4 I was easily persuaded to pop these in my shopping basket!!
Design and packaging:
These mousse's come in a 4 pack. 2 pots on top of 2 pots wrapped in a cardboard sleeve. If they were trying to cut back on packaging they could easily lose the cardboard sleeve and just have the 4 pots attached to each other and have more details on the actual pots. The design of this mousse ties in with the flavour and the predominant colour is white. The cardboard sleeve has details of the name across the front in large lettering "Aero White Choc Bubbly Desert" surrounded by "bubbles" and a picture of a shiny silver spoon toped with the actual desert. The back of the cardboard sleeve has details on the ingredients and calorific contents too. They are keen to highlight that each pot only has 99 calories, but if you are on a weight loss diet I would have a look at the fat and carbs contents too, as I'm not sure how high they would be considered to be compared to the calories and may affect weight loss. The pots themselves really don't have much details on them at all. They have the same white "bubbly" design as the cardboard sleeve and simply state "White Choc Aero" across the front and back and the peel off lid advises you of the same and states "99 calories". The packaging is eye catching and you can easily see that this is a creamy, white chocolate mousse. If the pots had more info on them they could do away with the cardboard sleeve.
Taste and smell test:
These little pots contain a light fluffy mousse. It is primarily cream in colour with swirls of brown chocolate mixed through it. When you peel the lid off you can smell that the flavour used is white chocolate. The mixture is very bubbly but not big bubble, small bubbles so the mixture is actually quite thick. Unlike some cheap mousses that seem to disappear when you stir them and all the bubbles pop, this one stays thick and creamy. The taste and consistency is what I imagine would happen if you melted kinder chocolate bars and stirred them in to lightly whipped cream. It is delicious. The mousse doesn't melt either, when you put it in your mouth you can feel it cover your tongue and it stays thick until you swallow it. It has a sweet and creamy taste and you can taste both the white and milk chocolate through it.
Overall I think this is a really nice desert. I am especially happy to get it at 69p, however I think that even at the full price (advertised in Morrisons as £1.29 I would still buy them). A bit too much packaging but nothing worthy of taking a star off for.
Chilled desserts like yoghurts or mousses are quick, convenient, and are one of those things that I stock up on every week at the supermarket as they are handy to pack with a lunch or have with your breakfast as a quick snack. There are plenty to choose from and I snapped up a couple of flavours of these Aero Mousses to try. These are currently on special offer at my local Tesco where you can the multipacks are buy one get one free for £1.00.
I often eat yoghurt and mousse desserts and enjoy looking for new flavours. These White Chocolate Mousse desserts are produced by Nestle as an expansion of their Aero range. The desserts come in a little plastic pots sealed with a peel-back lid. They come in a multi-pack of 4, and each pot weighs 58g. The design is quite interesting and the packet is covered in pictures of bubbles to reinforce that it is part of the Aero range.
Product description: "Bubbly White Chocolate Mousse with Swirls of Chocolate."
The mousse is a pale creamy white colour and has a nice foamy look to it. As you scoop some on to your spoon you can see that there are swirls of milk chocolate mixed in as well and this combination of white and milk chocolate certainly floats my boat! You can mainly taste the white chocolate which has a sweet and light flavour to it, although I didn't think it tasted much like normal Aero chocolate. The texture is very thick and heavy and has a nice almost solid feel to it. It is still light and fluffy with a nice smooth consistency, and was very pleasant to eat.
The 58g tub seems quite small but I found it to be reasonably filling enough to bridge the gap between breakfast and lunch time nicely without leaving me craving more snacks. This mousse is quite high in sugar and saturated fat so not the most healthy of items, and as such should be eaten in moderation.
I really enjoyed the flavour of this Aero White Chocolate Mousse, and would recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth who enjoys white chocolate flavoured treats. Especially good value at the moment with the buy one get one free offer.
