Rowntrees Jelly Tots
Advantages: They taste nice
When I was a kid, I remember going to the sweet shop and instantly picking up a packet of jelly tots, as I've grown older I've obviously stopped having them as often, but recently I have refound my love for my previous childhood favourite, so I decided to write a review of them.
The packaging for Jelly Tots has changed during the years, from an Orange Packet to a now very bright Yellow Packet, I very much like the packaging, although I feel as though it makes it very more aimed at children as they would be attracted to the bright colours, they should seriously include us adults into their approach, we love Jelly Tots too!
Something Negative I will say about the packaging is that with the new design it is much harder to open them without spilling the contents everywhere, whereas before it was easy to just open the packet.
Fruit juices 25% (Strawberry, Orange, Blackcurrant, Lime, Lemon)
Acidity regulator (Trisodium citrate)
Colours (Anthocyanins, Copper complexes of chlorophyllins, Beta-carotene)
What Are Jelly Tots?
Is heaven in your mouth a suitable answer? Probably not.
Jelly Tots are circular sweets coated in sugar (totally part of your healthy diet!) that come in five flavours in each bag, Strawberry, Orange, Blackcurrant, Lime and Lemon, they have been around since 1967 and thankfully the recipe has never really been changed, generally people mostly like the Strawberry and Blackcurrant ones the best (me included) but the odd few love the taste of the Lemon and Lime flavour.
Do they taste nice?
Absolutely I generally find I can't really pace myself when eating Jelly Tots, I have to eat the entire bag within a space of 5 minutes, they're just so nice and once you go through a phrase of eating them it's hard to stop.
They're definately my favourite sweet, I just love the sweet taste and texture once your tongue has removed the sugar coating.
When you first eat a Jelly tot the coating makes them appear hard and almost crunchy, but once the sugar coating is gone, they are soft and chewy and fruit flavour properly comes through.
I am so glad to have refound my love for this delectable sweet and if you've never had Jelly Tots or haven't for while, go and do so, because they're amazing.
