“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Ice Cream „
Seeing as the hot weather has now finally arrived, expect for today as its raining. It's time to crack out the ice cream and ice lollies to cool us all down. I hate spending money on branded products when there are cheaper alternatives out there. And constantly shopping at different supermarkets really has given me an idea of which stores are the best to purchase different items from. Tesco's choc ices come in a pack of 10, which come in a recyclable cardboard box. Each choc ice is individually wrapped in a thin paper sealed packet. As the choc ices are frozen I find this a nightmare as some of the paper like to stick to the dark chocolate choc ice which really doesn't taste nice mixed with a nice piece of paper packaging. Each choc ice is around 3 inches in length an inch and a half in width and around half an inch in depth. Tesco's sell this 10 pack of choc ices for the extremely low price of only £1 working out to be only 10p each, what a bargain! The choc ices are of a nice size and when taking a bite into the lovely thin crispy layer of chocolate it makes a nice cracking noise, as you bite down you get the lovely taste of vanilla ice-cream, which is smooth creamy and just melts away in your mouth leaving a lovely refreshing feel run down your throat. I love the taste of these choc ices, the dark chocolate has a lovely smooth rich taste to it which complements the ice cream down to a t. I much prefer the taste of these dark chocolate choc ices compared to the milk chocolate. They have more of a slight kick to them! Tesco's you have done well and this really is an item to add into your shopping basket though those summer months. Overall a great tasting product at an excellent price.
I decided to have a bit of a clear out of my freezer. To get ready now for the wholesome soups and sauces that I could make and freeze. At the back had fallen a of box Tesco's dark chocolate choc ices. So that is were they went, I thought someone had been greedy and had eaten the lot when I wasn't looking!! I had got these some months ago when we were trying every different ice cream that came on offer, when I spotted these in a box of 10 for only £1 what a bargain! The usual white box showing red lettering with some of the choc ices on the front. On opening them it is a bit disappointing as they are individualy wrapped, but in a thin plain white wrapper.I know it sounds strange as it is only a wrapper, but this makes them look very cheap. On biting into the choc ice it is a different story as the chocolate is very nice and doesn't taste like some of the cheap chocolate that some things are covered in. Now down to the ice cream this is quite soft ( maybe my freezer needs turning up!!) and very creamy. So at only 10p per choc ice you really can't go wrong, although it is proberly the wrong time of the year to be reviewing these. We could be in for an Indian Summer so there might still be time to give these a try! Each choc ice has; ~~~Calories 140~~~ ~~~Sugar 11.3g~~~ ~~~Fat 9.1g~~~ ~~~Saturates 7.8g~~~ ~~~Salt trace~~~ So for a really cheap choc ice you can't go wrong as they are quite tasty, maybe not up to the Ben and Jerry standard ( I know they don't make choc ices, well I don't think they do!). The price does reflect this, but even so a great little ice cream to have in the freezer! I'll give this product 4 stars
