A lovely change from chilly yogurts

Recently I've found myself getting hungry at work mid-morning or mid-afternoon, and craving something warm and comforting. My sister likes these and although I'd never tried them before I thought I'd have a change from my usual yogurts and try these instead. This product is very similar to the Mullerice brand, but significantly cheaper (around 39p or 3 for £1 rather than 59p or 4 for £2!) It comes in several flavours - on the day I bought it, as well as this Original flavour it was available in Strawberry and Rhubarb. It comes in a pot which is larger than your average yogurt at 150g. It is made of white plastic and has a blue foil peel-back lid, printed with the name of the product and declaring itself 'low fat'. This is true, although the total calorie content is around 170kcals so more than many yogurts. The packaging also states that this can be eaten cold or hot (heated for a minute or so in the microwave), so that's what I decided to do (take the lid off first!) After a minute, the product was piping hot and smelt deliciously of vanilla and hot milk. It looked like homemade rice pudding: white and creamy, with visible rice grains visible. And the taste wasn't a letdown. It tasted sweet and delicious, like hot milk but with a yummy vanilla/dessert-y sweetness. Yet it wasn't sickly, even by the end of the pot. This is real comfort food - I felt satisfied and full all afternoon, and resisted the lure of the office biscuits. It's just what you need on these cold days, and feels like a real treat in my working day. Yum.
