I saw these in Asda about 2 weeks ago and picked up a pack of them. We often have Buffet days at work, so I got a pack of these ones and a pack of the Caramel Shortcake ones. Although they have the Thornton branding on them, both packs were seliing for £1 each. I think the right price of this is about £1.70 but they seem to have been on offer for quite some time.
This is 12 little bits of Brownie in a plastic tray which has a shiny coloured wrapper over the tray. The pack is mostly brown in colour and there is a nice picture of some of the little Brownies on the front. Brownies aren't my most favourite Cakes, but I thought they looked so appetising.
The pieces were quite small. They were little square chunks which were wide enough and quite deep. They consisited of a crumbly Chocolate mixture with quite a few Chocolate pieces and some fudge bits in it as well. Sure Brownies don't normally have fudge bits in it, but this added to the nice sweetness and slighty gooey consistency of these. There was a thin layer of Chocolate on the top. The Chocolate didn't seem overly sweet, but didn't taste cheap and nasty either.
They seemed a bit harder at the outer layer part of this, but when you bit into these then you could taste the crumbly texture and a nice moist part inside. They sort of tasted quite fresh baked in the inside, and were nice and tasty.
Per Brownie I think these had something like 80 calories. May not sound like a lot, but try stopping at one of these. I could eat the whole pack in 1 sitting.
These were nice enough and nicer that Marks and Spencer's version in my eyes. The price was good enough, but don't think they would be worth much more than £1 moreso for the size of these, as you don't get much grams in this pack.
