Advantages: Cold. Refreshing.
These iced lollies are a welcome addition to my freezer on a baking hot day. Good for a quick, cold treat for adults or children it's a snack that's ready whenever you are. It's a Walls branded product (owned by Unilever) so you know you are going to get decent quality.
There are 8 mini twisters in the pack and they come in two flavours which mix the smoothness of ice-cream with the zestiness of real fruit juice: Pineapple ice cream with strawberry-lemon fruit ice and lemon fruit ice with lemon lime flavour. These delicious tangy/creamy flavours mix it up in your mouth and are wonderfully refreshing. There is a total of 312g of product in the recyclable box. These individually wrapped, mini-mouthfuls are just 45 calories per twister, 1g of fat per twister, of which 0.8g saturates, 9g carbohydrates of which sugars 7g and negligible amounts of protein and salt.
The ingredients are; water, sugar reconstituted skimmed milk, glucose syrup, lemon juice, strawberry juice, fructose syrup, stabilizers, flavourings, citric-acid, emulsifier, elderberry juice concentrate, beetroot juice concentrate, colour, spinach extract. There are no artificial colours or flavours in the product. The product must be stored at minus 18 degrees.
These lollies are a pleasure to look at. They are a work of art in themselves. These mini ones are smaller than the full size ones - I guess that goes without saying - but they are still attractive to look at with their swirling colours as the two different flavours form a corkscrew pattern which is interesting to look at as well as giving the lolly texture.
If the kids are short of entertainment whilst they are eating this lolly - they could always go to www.max-adventures.com where the happy lion brandishing his twister on the front of the box has lots of games lined up to play. I had a go in the Ice Temple but something called the 'shadow master' got the better of me. I'm not very dexterous at the old up and down arrow buttons on the keyboard.
I managed to eat a lolly though. Very nice. Currently (18/07/13) £2 per box or 2 for £3 at Asda.
