Advantages: Fruity, creamy & Low in calories!

Disadvantages: Price :(

Whilst in Asda this week I was looking for the perfect refreshing dessert to have that wasn't going to kill my 'healthy' diet, so I eyeballed these solero's and as they are my favourite ice cream/lolly I decided to opt for those instead of my usual calorie laden cone or magnum. I couldn't wait to rush home and pop them in the freezer for later on!

~ About walls ~
Walls is a united kingdom ice cream brand owned by unilever. Wall's ice cream production began in 1922 at a factory in London. Since then it has provided us with the popular ice creams we have grown up with and love such as: Magnum, Carte D'or, cornetto, wall's classics, vienetta, solero (the one I'm reviewing today), feast, Twister, Mini Milk, Calippo, X-pop and funny fingers.

~ Product and availability ~
Walls solero is available to buy from most supermarkets in multipacks as well as singularly in corner shops and news agents. They are available to buy in three flavours; exotic, berry and fruit ice pineapple (this one is only available to buy singularly and isn't that widely stocked). They can bought in a multipack of three for around £2.49 at full price, which I think is quite expensive. It does make them cheaper to buy them in multipacks than singularly as they are usually just over a £1.00 if you buy just one but I still find them a bit pricey. But I think this is the same with all walls products, I guess you pay for the quality of the product in this case.

~ Packaging ~
Walls exotic solero comes in an attractive, summery yellow cardboard box. On the front of the box is a large picture of the lolly its self with a piece bitten from it to reveal the creamy, fruity goodness beneath. Surrounding this are pictures of the different fruits the lollies contain; mango's, peaches, pineapples, passion fruit etc. Just off the centre of the box is the name of the product printed in large white lettering outlined in dark green along with the flavour, above this you will find the traditional red and white walls logo. The front of the packaging also tells me that these lollies contain real fruit pieces and the amount of calories per lolly. On the back of the box you will find a full nutritional information chart, ingredients list and storage instructions. Inside the box each lolly is wrapped individually in a similar design to the box.

~ Appearance, taste, smell & texture ~
Peeling away the wrapper from the lolly reveals a bright orange coloured, decent sized lolly that smells very sweetly of exotic tropical fruits. You can see little chunks of fruit dotted around the outside of the lolly, which is promising! Biting into the lolly you get two gorgeous flavours and textures; the sharp, extremely fruity firm outer ice lolly 'shell' and beneath this a soft, creamy, sweet ice cream, swirled with a tangy tropical sauce. The flavours are amazing! You can certainly taste each different tropical fruit, nothing is masked. It is so fruity and sweet, but not overpoweringly so. The ice cream inside is such good quality, its proper ice cream not any of this artificial rubbish you can tell because it melts into a creamy pool in your mouth and its one of the smoothest ice creams I've ever tasted. You can't get the ice cream flavour mixed up with any other, its a very rich and strong vanilla! Both of the flavours go very well together and create a complete taste sensation! It reminds me very much of a tropical ice cream smoothie!

~ Other information ~
Each 90ml lolly contains: 90 calories, 17g of sugar, 1.5g of fat and 1g of saturates. I think for an ice cream this is fantastic! Only 90 calories for a rather large lolly that is filled with such a creamy, flavourful ice cream is amazing! Yes, it is high in sugars but it will be because of all the fruit it contains.

There is no allergy advice given on the box neither does it say its suitable for vegetarians so eat at your own risk!

~ Overall opinion ~
These make such a refreshing, palette cleansing end to a meal as well as a perfect summer snack! With only 90 calories you can enjoy these guilt free with pure pleasure. They are also very thirst quenching so are perfect if your in need of something to stop you from panting! I would certainly recommend these to anybody, they are a quality product from a quality manufacturer. The only downfall for me is the price, which sadly means I can't buy these as much as I'd perhaps like too.

Overall I give walls exotic solero a very well deserved 5/5 stars! You can't get anything else that is packed with so much flavour and tastes so fruity and rich for only 90 calories!

Summary: I'd never turn down one of these, they are a perfect guilt free ice-cream!
