      .

Well I just wrote a review about the Classic Cornetto, now it is the Strawberry's turn. The wife picked up a box of each from Sainsbury's as they are currently on offer for 2 boxes for £2, or 2 per box. There is 6 cones in a box so I thought that was pretty good value for money.

These are in quite a large box and not all squashed in. They are wrapped in thin foil which tears off easily enough.

This is just the same kind of Cone that is in all Cornetto Ice Creams. It is a slightly malty tasting cone but this one didn't have the layer of Chocolate inside like what the Classic one did. i think Chocolate with Strawberry would taste that bit odd anyway. This is a nice light creamy Strawberry Ice Cream which has some Vanilla mixed through it as well. There is blobs of what tastes like Strawberry jam and it is very fruity.

I can't decide which one I like best. This one is nice because it is nice and fruity and summery, whereas I like the simple taste of the Calssic one. But with offers like these then who says you can't just have both of them.

A nice summertime treat to eat in the sunshine.

I miss the Gondola song it used to advertise!

Anything the Italians do, no one can do better in terms of cars and Ice-Creams (as is claimed) not my personal opinion, for reasons I am not really all that smart to answer, though I was quite shocked to learn that Cornettos have only been around in the world just fifty years, that to a teenager will be a life-time, but to those of my generation in their thirties, is no time at all.

My first encounter with any type of Cornetto was sometime in the Thatcher years, though some years on, I had my first ever Cornetto since 1982 and nothing could prepare me for the initial memories that came flooding back! - Wall's haven't altered their taste in Cornetto if this was anything to go by and it took me a while to gather my senses.

Walls and Unilever explained: adoption certified

Cornetto cones were first manufactured in 1976 by Spica, an Italian ice-cream maker based in Naples that exchanged hands to a more influential trader by the name of Unilever - the least enticing brand name to sell any Ice Cream product, that they are now, an Anglo-Dutch Multinational Corporation that owns a vast majority of the world's consumer product brands of all categories. Their aims are to provide consumers with more "rewarding product experiences" that they continually review their merchandises through investing vast sums of money into cutting-edge market research each and every year.

      Knorr:

If you've ever had any Knorr branded food, then you will be interested to know that this name is Unilever's biggest food marque in over 80 countries, their product range typically includes soups, sauces and noodles - I never get that excited about these that taste incredibly cardboard-y.

      Wall's Strawberry Cornetto:

Perhaps the only Ice cream I actually really enjoy from Unilever-Walls and possibly because they were traditionally an Ice Cream manufacturer, rival force to be reckoned with? - Their Cornettos are intensely soft once defrosted and have the same beautiful quality as the Whippy 99, so are not meant to be eaten when they have just been taken out of the freezer as some people make that mistake.

Made with care and love, Unliver-Walls delivers a weight-watcher treat that although is packed with all the usual sugars and fats, are of a healthier kind than they used to be but nothing has changed in terms of taste. A lot of Nordic countries use Goats Milk that is less fattening than Cows Milk, so as a Scandinavian enterprise, it is likely that Unilever have come up with a Milk formula that can be mass produced from Goats own extract! - All it states on the ingredient content list, is "reconstituted skimmed milk" so that implies something and nothing to me who knows nothing about dairy farming

The Strawberry syrup mix is exquisite with the Ice Cream, but alone it is Diabolically sugar infused, so the two work extremely well together when the Vanilla essence counteracts the tangy Glucose-Fructose sweetener sensation (A Diabetic sugar-lover would simply have a heart attack!). The Cone is made from Whey Solids; Cocoa powder; Cocoa Mass, Dextrose, wheat starch and emulsifiers, so is a very light wafer cone but very Chocolaty in an understated way.

Is it Dietary for those who are on a calorie-controlled eating plan?

No, but made with fat-reduced ingredients that make it a sort of Weight-Watcher kind of alternative but that much more pleasurable to eat. There are astonishingly only a 160 calories in each Cornetto!

      The Walls love heart motif:

The packaging is not desperate by any means and the iconic, Calligraphic-Red heartbrand operates under "different names in different markets (Wall's in the UK and most parts of Asia, Algida in Italy, Langnese in Germany, Kibon in Brazil, and Ola in the Netherlands)" to certify that good Health is at the heart of Unilever's core food standards policies.

      Conclusion:

Cornetto Enigma is their latest creation and, by far the most ultimate taste experience in Ice-Cream that certainly pushes the traditional Strawberry simplicity out of the limelight. However, because it has sentimental meaning for me, this must always be first choice and because, not everyone can cope with flavour over-load that say, the Enigma is very rich and sickly, unlike the Strawberry variety that at least hits the taste buds in a far more subtle, yet sweet-perfection experience.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A really delicious ice cream.

The Cornetto strawberry is a delicious, very sweet, though very fattening coned ice cream. The packaging is a foil envelope that covers the cone and looks incredibly posh and expensive, even though these things can be picked up pretty cheap.

A delicacy among the working class, the strawberry cornetto is a lovely, thick and crispy waffle coned, chocolate interred vanilla ice cream with delicious cool hazelnuts on the top of it and a big dome of really posh, really sweet tasty ice cream surrounded by strawberry fondant.

Although it's incredibly bad for you, there are few ice creams that taste better, and it works really well as a nice cool snack, or something to help you cool down on a hot summers day. They even last a long time because the ice cream is so creamy (rather than icy) that it takes quite a bit of time to actually melt.

It's not messy, it doesn't melt, and its delicious, the only problem is that is it exceptionally bad for you. They come in backs of six and are very, very reasonably priced. With these you definitely get your value for money, and I'm talking about in terms of both quality and quantity. Buying a multi pack is definitely in your best interests and will surely be a good addition to your freezer. It looks delicious and tastes delicious. It's just lovely. Yum.

Wall's Strawberry Cornetto - wafer cone, creamy ice-cream and strawberry topping.

Spica, an Italian ice-cream manufacturer first registered Cornetto in 1960, when they brought their ready-made ice-cream cones to the market. Unfortunately for them, they did not sell very well and in 1976, Unilever bought Cornetto from them, turning it into the well known, very popular brand we know today.

I love all the Cornetto varieties, but my favourites would have to be mint or strawberry. With 5 in our family, I always buy the family pack, which contains 6 cones.
The outer box is made of strong cardboard, which stop the cones getting crushed. It is decorated in mainly blue and red and has a close-up shot of a strawberry Cornetto on the front.

Inside you find your Cornetto wrapped in a thick paper with an inner foil. The top of the cone is protected by a thin, cardboard disc.
When you peel off the paper cover, you are faced with a very attractive dark golden wafer cone and white ice-cream with a strawberry, syrup topping.

The ice-cream is the bit I always head for first. It is vanilla in flavour and is smooth and creamy. The strawberry topping is thick and has a very rich, sweet strawberry taste to it. This strong strawberry flavour combines well with the more delicate vanilla ice-cream.

The cone on a Cornetto is amazing! It is sweet and really tasty and unlike most cones, it is really thick, crispy and crunchy. Inside the cone is a layer of milk chocolate, but the biggest surprise comes near the bottom of the cone. This is where the layer of chocolate turns into a solid piece of chocolate and it is really tasty and filling. This makes a Cornetto a great filling snack, or it serves just as well as a nice pudding after a main meal.

This product contains wheat and mlik. It is free from artificial colours and flavours.

Wall's Strawberry Cornetto are available in Tesco in a six pack for £2.07. This is pretty good value as singly these usually cost around £1 each.

Wall's do make some lovely ice-creams and I think Cornetto are one of the best.

I would be happy to recommend them and award them 5 stars.

Delicious ingredients make a delicious ice cream

Strawberry Cornettos are my favourite ice cream and have been for as long as I can remember. My nan used to eat them all the time in the summer which is probably the reason why I began to like them so much as she always had a pack of them whenever I went round her house.

They're made from a crispy baked wafer cone which is coated all over the inside with a chocolate flavour layer. The wafer is then filled with vanilla flavour ice cream and strawberry fruit ice and is topped off with strawberry sauce.

The wafer is really crispy, thick and tasty and this, with the rich chocolate layer inside, is the best part of the entire ice cream for me. I'm not usually too keen on wafers but this one has a different and better taste to most, maybe because of the way it's been baked. The vanilla ice cream is quite plain tasting but mixed with the strawberry ice and strawberry sauce, it tastes delicious and very sweet and fruity.

These come in packs of 6 in the supermarkets which normally cost just over £2, however they are often in offers with a different variety of different ice creams.

I've always preferred strawberry flavoured things to any other fruity flavours and this variety of Cornetto is delicious for any strawberry lovers. But the chocolate coating inside the wafer makes it different and gives it that bit more flavour which also makes these great for chocolate lovers too.

This is a unique type of ice cream and one that looks quite sophisticated. It tastes delicious and really satisfying which is why it's my favourite ice cream.
