Delicious ice cream treat for my whole family.
Member Name: mckenziesmummy
Advantages: Yummy, often on offer.
Disadvantages: I have no willpower.
I like to have a few nice treats in the cupboard and freezer for the time when my children have been well behaved and when we have sat down as a family to have a nice meal together, particularly on Sundays.
Wall's Vienetta is provided in a little plastic tray with a white wrapper to keep it all sealed and this is shoved inside a cardboard box. It literally takes just a few seconds to get this opened but sometimes it feels like ages, particularly when the whole family are sitting around waiting for it to be opened and divided up!
Vienetta is vanilla ice cream with lots of little layers of chocolate and when you slice it up the chocolate gives a refreshing cracking sound. The ice cream is lovely and creamy and does have a fairly good taste to it and the chocolate is a lovely accompaniment for the smooth ice cream. The layers of chocolate are lovely and crisp and taste yummy. I love to mix the whole thing together in a bowl as it works so well together and everything about it is delicious. If I am really feeling greedy or want a big chocolate hit then I might add a little squirt of chocolate sauce to mine and the kids as well. The bottom of the Vienetta is my favourite part as it's got a lovely thick chocolate base that's the best part of the whole thing.
I purchased a 650ml Vienetta from Tesco reduced from the usual price of £1.48 down to £1.00 and they also have the Mint variety for the same price. The mint one is quite nice but it's not my favourite, this one is, and I am sure that all my children agree with me.
A serving of Vienetta contains 120 calories, 11g sugar, 8g fat, 7g saturates and 0.6g of salt. I believe a serving is around 50ml. There is a fair amount of sugar in this so I will definitely be limiting the amount that my children have from now on. In the past it has been too easy to just cut it up in to five or six servings and dish it out but I am going to ration the amount that we have after Sunday dinner now as I don't want my children to grow up addicted to rubbish.
This Vienetta is quite tasty and ideal for the family, there is enough there for everybody and it's available at a very reasonable price. When it's on offer at £1.00 it's easy enough just to buy 3 or 4 and these will lasts us a fair few weeks. I don't mind having a few of these in the freezer as long as my children keep their fingers off them when it's not the right time of the week. The ice cream is lovely, as is the chocolate, this is not the most luxurious product ever but it works well for my family.
Summary: Tasty ice cream is a treat for the whole family.
