      Just divine

      When you think of magnum
      what first springs to mind
      A bottle of finest bubbly
      is the answer I think you'll find.

      So re-adjust your brainwaves
      synchronise with mine
      prepare for a trip to heaven
      with a taste that's so divine.

      Taste the Creamy white chocolate
      surrounding vanilla ice cream
      It's better than having an orgasm
      I can almost hear you scream.

      The crunchy white exterior
      protecting the hidden delight
      flakes off as your biting
      exposing the milky sight.

      And when you find a crevice
      in which you can put your tongue
      you can delve for a piece of ice cream
      that is totally Yum Yum Yum.

      It's kinda like an ice lolly
      but the ice cream is nice and thick
      the casing's nice a crunchy
      it's chocolate on a stick

      Mr Kiplings' a genius
      when it comes to cakes no doubt
      but when it comes to ice cream
      Mr Walls has got some clout.

      It's pretty high in calories
      and the fat content isn't low
      but if you're in need of something nice
      there is nowhere better to go

      I know that strictly speaking
      this might not be classed as a review
      But grab yourself a MAGNUM
      and THE RATING BIT is up to you.

        6o million magnum ice creams are sold every year. Magnum satisfies the indulgent soul in all of us. And everyone knows that eating a Magnum isn't an ordinary experience. It has its own ritual - biting into the cool, luxurious Magnum chocolate, you encounter a smooth contrast of delicious vanilla ice cream.

        Did you know?
        • Every year Walls sells enough Magnum ice creams to go around the world four and a half times.
        • In Summer 2000 the 'Magnum Force' roller coaster ride opened at Flamingo land amusement park in North Yorkshire. This promoted the idea that Magnum ice creams are not for the faint-hearted.
        • Magnum light contains a third less fat and 30% less calories than Magnum classic.

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~History~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        Magnum was first launched nationwide in 1990.
        In 1992 the Magnum almond variant was introduced. After research found that people liked to explore different flavours, Magnum mint was brought out in 1995, double chocolate Magnum in 1996 and the Magnum in cone in 1997.
        Magnum announced a new range of ice creams for 2002, including yoghurt fresh Magnum (a light yoghurt ice cream with a raspberry fruit swirl covered in milk chocolate) and bite-sized "Moments" range with caramel, chocolate and hazelnut centres.
        2003 saw the launch of Magnum Intense - a heart of soft truffle enveloped in velvety ice cream, sealed in thick, Magnum chocolate - plus the limited edition " 7 Deadly Sins". This captured the attention of the nation with versions like "Lust", "Sloth", "Greed", "Gluttony" and "Jealousy".
        The success of "Sins" is followed up with another exotic limited edition range in 2005 - focusing on each of the senses. This is brought to life by five new taste sensations: Magnum Aroma, Magnum Touch, Magnum Sound, Magnum Taste and Magnum Vision
          Advantages
          Disadvantages
          Introduction In my daily rummaging for some food (chocolate), I came across some magnums, they were obviously in the freezer, I love these!! First of all I love chocolate, then comes ice - cream!! So with it being all - in - one, you can imagine how much I love them!! (Or can you)?! I have said in quite a few of my reviews, that I couldn?t live with out that certain products, and this is absolutely no exception!! Yet again another one of those must haves!! I will tell you about them, but you can?t have any of mine!! I?m having them - not you!! And this was even better because the shop was having a any two for £3, but there are only three in a box - I need more!! * * * * * What they are Well, as I have said - they are chocolate and ice - cream mixed together, making them: Ice blocks!! (Lovely ice blocks - very lovely)!! They are made by walls. The chocolate is a shell around the vanilla - flavoured ice - cream (I prefer chocolate, but you can?t go wrong with these)!! * * * * * Taste As I keep mentioning, and I am so sorry about that, they are absolutely lovely!! (Surprise Surprise)!! There is chocolate and there is ice - cream so obviously there is a taste of chocolate and there is a taste of ice - cream, and well that is about it!! Oh! One last thing - did I mention they are looooooooovely?!!! * * * * * Packet On the front of the packet there is a picture of one of the magnums, and it clearly states the offer that I mentioned: any 2 for £3!! On the back it has a load of information that quite frankly I couldn?t be bothered to read, it also says that in other languages as well!! When the front is in English, I really don?t see the point!! A bad thing about the
          packet is the fact that it is made out of card board, so it doesn?t protect that well, because it goes all soggy!! Not like plastic ones, they are much better!! * * * * * Nutrition It doesn?t say anything about nutrition but it does say that it should be stored at roughly -18C it doesn?t say any more!! ?tut? Contacts The address is: Wall?s Ice Cream Ltd, Station Avenue, Walton - on Thames, Surrey There is no website address or phone number as far as the eye can see!! * * * * * Conclusion Right, well to sum everything I have to say lovely, they are the best!! A definite 5 stars out of 5 stars!! A downfall is that there is no website address or phone number on the packet!! But at least they taste great!! Oh! And don?t rush out and buy loads - I want some too!! Well I hope I helped, which is what I am meant to do!! Thank you for reading!!
            Advantages
            Disadvantages
            Ice cream has changed its image a lot over the years. Up until perhaps ten or fifteen years ago it was a special treat on a hot sunny day or else a mainstay of children?s parties alongside jelly. Posh ice cream meant a Cornrtto or a Feast. Nowadays ice cream is not just for kids. It is marketed as a sexy treat for lovers or as a single girl?s companion on those long lonely nights with just the television for company. Diamonds are no longer a girl?s best friend, Ben and Jerry are. With this in mind I decided to buy a carton of Walls new luxury ice cream Magnum Uncovered. Magnum choc ices are not a thing I tend to buy. I must be in the minority as according to my sister who used to work in a newsagent/sweet shop type place Magnums were the most common impulse , treat yourself buy in the shop. I just find Magnum?s far too expensive for a choc ice. However it was coming up to Valentines Day and the chocolate flavour of Wall?s Magnum Uncovered was crying out to be bought. It also comes in classic vanilla ice cream but the combination of chocolate ice cream, caramel sauce, bits of chocolate and caramel all topped with a thick slab of chocolate sounded totally divine and I could not resist popping this in my trolley. The thought of Duskman and I underneath our cover eating Magnum Uncovered sure captured my imagination. It was a totally luxurious purchase due to the price and the size of the tub. The ice cream costs £2.40 for 460 mls. We tend to buy a slightly nicer class of ice cream rather than a two litre value vanilla but this really did push the boat out for us. At the most this tub has four servings. A moderately hungry person could polish this tub off in one go. Is this good value for money? It depends on the taste of the contents The packaging. It?s an unus ual oval shape. The rich brown carton makes me think of all the glorious chocolate inside. The only problem with the carton is that it is cardboard. I much prefer plas
            tic ones as if the contents defrost they seem to survive better and do not go soggy. The appetence. On opening the tub I was greeted by the thick layer of chocolate that covers the ice cream itself. It gives a satisfying crack upon digging my spoon into the ice cream underneath. The milk chocolate ice cream is a lovely golden brown colour and looks pretty appetising. On further examination there are little semi hemisphere shaped chunks of milk chocolate. These must be the chocolate covered caramel bits. So far this ice cream looks very promising. The smell is also very promising. I get a good chocolate smell with undertones of caramel. It reminds me of the smell of an ice cream mars bar which I am not so keen on. The taste test I am greeted by the layer of milk chocolate. It is quite thick and fairly tasty. I then dip my spoon into the ice cream itself. This is where iIstart to have mixed feelings about this product. The highlight for me is the chocolate caramel chunks. They are rich, sweet and slightly crunchy. There is a hint of hazelnut praline to the chunks even though nuts are not an ingredient of this product. I could eat these bits on their own. They really are divine. I?m not as impressed by the chocolate ice cream. It lacks the creaminess of other ice creams such as Ben and Jerry?s or Carte Do?r and its clones. The chocolate flavouring reminds me of cocoa powder. The flavouring is also very very sweet and even a bit artificial. I can not see the caramel sauce but I can taste it. I just find this ice cream i far too sweet. Not my taste at all. I?m not sure you could eat a whole t ub after all as it would get very very sickly. The texture The texture of this ice cream was not the best I have had. It is not that soft and felt a bit rough at times. I also found that when I got it out of the freezer it was a bit hard to serve up. You could not leave it to soften for a few minutes as th
            e milk chocolate on the top would also melt which would be a shame. The contrast of the hard chocolate and the softer ice cream is one of the better qualities of this underwhelming ice dream I do not have any nutritional values for this product. I reckon it is fattening and it might contain traces of nuts. There is another flavour Classic which I might try. I think I might have preferred the classic one. I found the chocolate variety far too sickly and a bit too much of a chocolate overload. It might have worked if some of the chocolate was plain chocolate. Milk chocolate on its on is too sweet. I did like the caramel bits though. I actually felt let sown with this product. It was billed as a luxurious treat but I just felt it was overpriced and thus poor value for money. I have also recently eaten Asda?a take on Carte D?oor and that was less artificial and much creamier and much cheaper. If you want a real treat try Sainsbury?s taste the difference farmhouse ice cream. That is a real treat. They can cover up the Magnum for all I care as I will not be buying the chocolate version again.
There I was, innocently strolling down the isle at Safeway, minding my own business when POW! There it was sitting in the freezers so unashamedly, just nestled between the Cadburys and the walls ice cream. I stood there for a couple of minutes just staring at this strangely shaped tub. It just seemed to beckon to me to take a closer look. I bent over to pick it up and investigate closer. The tub was not the familiar flowerpot shape ice cream manufacturers seem to favour these days. No this was a crafty move indeed. The oval shaped tub was brown and red with the words "Magnum Uncovered" in big white letters. It apparently had layer of thick chocolate that cracks to uncover smooth vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and packed with chocolate pieces bursting with chocolate sauce. I looked at the price. It was on offer at an introductory price of £1.99. Normally priced at £2.95. Well come on now. It was on special offer I did save my self-money and that's good isn?t it. (That's the guilt out of the way). The tub contains 450 ml. When I got home and found sometime to my self. I took my find out of the freezer and opened the lid. What a sight was before me! Oooooo The very first thing to greet me was a solid layer of dark milk chocolate set right across the whole tub. It had set and dribbled all down the side's making a nice thick and crusty edge. I took my spoon and tapped it; it was set hard and quite firm. It took me a couple of hard knocks with the spoon before the lovely rich brown layer finally gave in and cracked. The chocolate layer was almost ½ cm thick. Underneath peeping out at me was a white vanilla ice cream heavily rippled with dark chocolate sauce. I could see a lump just sticking out of the top of the ice c
              ream. It looked a bit like a chocolate button at first. I picked up a piece of the chocolate with my fingers and put it in my mouth mmmm. It was crisp and delicious. It was the same taste as the chocolate coating of the Magnum ice-lolly. It was a slightly darker milk chocolate taste and it was quite sweet. It melted quite quickly in my mouth. I then turned to the ice cream underneath. This had the unmistakable flavour of the Magnum with a lovely rich dark sauce. It was a definite a flavour of indulgence and luxury. Mixed in with the ice cream were loads of chocolate button like things. They were almost the size of a five pence piece, not tiny little chocolate chips so small you can?t taste them. They were a sort of dome shape, I bit into one. It was filled with the same chocolate sauce that was rippled through the ice cream. There was just so much chocolate. There were two different verities in the freezer at Safeway. The one I choose was called "Classic" The other one was "Chocolate" and said on the tub that it was rippled with caramel. This didn?t appeal to me as I find ice cream with caramel is often a little too sweet for me. I'm sure if they havent already they soon will have many different flavours. I do think this product will be successful. Now my over all personal opinion of this product is this. Firstly I have to say my favourite ice cream is Cadbury's and my opinion on that has not changed. Oh the thought of Cadbury's ever bringing out a product like this is so mouth-watering. Imagine Cadburys ice cream with thick milk Cadbury's chocolate oh drools. How ever it's not Cadbury's it 'Wall?s Magnum' and is almost as delicious but in my eyes not quite. Any lover of the Magnum I think would find their selves in heaven with this product as I think my family would have if I had saved them some (Don't bother, I don't care). I did think the ice
              cream was a little bit gooey and the chocolate sauce was little too sweet but still very enjoyable. I would buy this product again. It is different and delicious but can be a little sickly if you scoff the whole pot, but who cares. Enjoy! And thanks for reading. Kim.
