      Weight Watchers Chocolate Sundaes

Yes back to Weight Watchers again! In what ever the weather I like now and then to have some ice cream; ice cream always reminds me of when I was little and have jelly and ice cream at my Nans house. However no jelly involved this time but there are some cookies!

Weight Watchers Chocolate and Cookie Sundaes:

'Chocolate and vanilla iced dessert swirled with chocolate sauce and cookie pieces, topped with chocolate coated meringue pieces'

Which on the box sure does sound nice also with its very tasty looking photo to match I couldn't resist the temptation whilst in my local Cool Trader and in the shopping basket they went.

Some items of low fat diet food you sometimes can't tell that it's diet food but sadly though this was nice you could certainly tell it was low fat.

      On First Taste:

When I had my first mouthful I was unsure if I was going to like it, it has an artificial like chocolaty taste. But oddly the more you eat the taster it becomes. Further into the ice cream you're met by some nice tasting chocolate sauce which makes this ice cream very morish, however there is very little of the chocolate sauce!

It does say vanilla and chocolate ice cream but it's more chocolaty and you only get very mild tastes of the vanilla. The crunchy bits of cookie within the ice cream itself are a rather nice touch with that soft yet a lot crunch taste in between.

The cookie pieces don't really have much taste of there own it all more or less tastes the same; not a patch on the similar version from Ben and Jerry's but this is diet food after all.

I like this ice cream better when it has melted slightly for me and I don't why but it takes that artificial taste away and gives you a more of a rich creamy texture making it feel not so like diet food.

      Allergy Advice:

Contains - Milk, Soya, Barley, Gluten, Wheat and Egg. May also contain traces of nuts.

      Suitable for vegetarians

      Price and Availability:

I've only ever seen these in Cool Trader and Sainsbury's; Cool Trader was considerably cheaper at 89 pence for 2 x 150ml however Sainsbury's are much more expensive at £1.79 but do tend to be offer.

      Packaging:

The packaging is very similar to the above photo but the picture used is for the mint and chocolate sundaes (which I've not seen about yet but would like to try them) I don't know if Weight Watchers are moving away from there standard purple band on there products and the last few items I have had there's been no purple banding.

This box is also without the standard purple band and is rather plan for a weight watchers treat and you could easily pass these in your local freezer section. The front of the box shows you a photo of the sundaes on the box also shows you some chocolate and cookies surrounding the sundaes. It has the normal 'Weight Watcher' wording and giving you the information on how many points the sundaes are and how many calories and fat it contains.

The back of the box is what you would expect to see ingredients, nutritional information, contact details etc this product was made in Belgium for Ice Fresh Foods Ltd for Weight Watchers.

The main cardboard box is recyclable but it doesn't say anything about the containers that the sundaes are in. Being plastic I presume they can be recycled and I've put mine in the recycle bin they weren't left behind so I guess they can be?

      Overall:

I've grown to like these sundaes but only when they have melted slightly, there great value for money at Cool Traders for only 89p for one box of two sundaes. They are less fat than normal ice creams/sundaes so you're able to stick to your diet/points easier and the crunchy bits of cookie in between the sundaes sets it off nicely.

I would recommend the dieters out there to give them a try!

Four out of five stars from me

      Thanks for reading :o)

      Additional Information:

As many of you will know about Weight Watchers but just incase - Weight Watchers is a point system eating plan which I have found very easy to follow so far. You are allocated so many points per day, and everything food/drink wise has a point value. Your aim is not to go over your set points!

Incase you would like to find more out about Weight Watchers they have a very handy and useful website.
