A great way for children to get whole milk dairy with a delicious taste

As a mum of two daughters - 5 years old and nearly 2 years old - I am always looking for products which get the healthiest, must nutritious food into them, whilst tasting great. I also like them to have full fat dairy products where possible. The Yeo Valley collection of big-pot organic yogurts definitely fits this bill in this mission.

I usually buy my Yeo Valley yogurts at Tesco where they are usually about £1.68 a pot, or 2 for £2.50 usually. These big pots are 500g and last about a week or so for us. We add it to fruit for breakfast or a pudding, drizzle it over stewed fruit for a warm dessert, or simply eat it on its own.

This particular yogurt is light and fresh and really fruity. It has a lemony tang, without being too sharp. It has a taste of lemon curd or lemon cheesecake, so has a good amount of sweetness to balance the sharp acid of the lemon.

Even my youngest has been eating this since she was very small, as an alternative to the children's yogurts that exist. Being whole milk it ensures that the children get the beautiful taste, without having to make do with skimmed milk, low fat yogurts - which is very difficult to find in my experience.

Gorgeousness in a tub that cannot be beaten!

When it comes to yogurt I am a real hard core fan of the stuff. Since moving to Somerset last year I am very lucky to be spoilt with lots of very fresh foods on a daily basis and Yeo Valley....well thats only up the road from me, where this lovely stuff is made!

To be faithful I usually do choose Yeo Valley over any other yogurts and the other day I spotted this on offer at instead of about £1.89 a tub any two from the Yeo valley range being £2.00 and I have a real love of lemon curd so I picked this up to try upon spotting it!

      The Packaging:

This yogurt is available in several different sizes however my tub was 450g in size and had dark green labeling and a peel off foil matching lid with a see-through safety style lid that goes over that. On the front of the tub there is a big photograph of a lemon on there and we are told that it is Yeo Valley 'Organic' Lemon Curd Probiotic yogurt. On the back of the tub other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed (this is suitable for Vegetarians, is gluten free and contains probiotic live cultures by the way), there is an at a glance nutritional chart as well as a full one stated, the weight of the yogurt is stated which is 450g in this case and contact details for the manufacturer (Yeo Valley) is given. Inside the pot there is a recipe idea given for Moroccan chicken using the yogurt which is easy to remove and keep if you want to.

      The Yogurt:

Thick and light yellow in colour this looks creamy and tasty and has a wonderful aroma of lemons to it. Taste wise it tastes as creamy as it looks, has a lovely smooth texture to it and a gorgeous, fresh and tangy taste of lemons to it. Not too sweet, with a hint of bitter zestiness...this is simply high quality and very moreish yogurt indeed. I absolutely love the flavour and appreciate the thick whole-milk used within it without it tasting greasy at the same time.

Good for the digestive system as well as being incredibly tasty but not too bad on the hips, I simply love this yogurt and advise anyone to try this really tasty yogurt!
