Michael John Fowler Holiday Parks: ... stayed at the Ilfracombe park in sept 2009 and had a great time. The chalet was basic-but that was all we paid for-so there was nothing to moan about as it was clean and tidy. I thought the facilities were ok, although we didn t use all of them most of the time. The entertainment was rubbish on most nights, but the staff did try their best and were very friendly. We used this facility to have a drink and relax aft...

Mr+Ian+Thompson John Fowler Holiday Parks
... stayed at the John Fowler Holiday Park in Coombe Martin from 26.10.09- 30.10.09, We very nearly cancelled the holiday due to the reviews we read on this site , But our experience was very different the Bronze caravan we stayed in (number 1) was clean, and came with everything a family would need, ok it was not a big caravan but lets be real people We paid £167 for four night break , The site was clean and tidy and was excellent value for money, If you want top accomodation please feel free to spend £1780 for a four night break at Centre Parcs. Coombe Martin is a lovely little Devon village , Although it is a very rocky beach and there are very steep hills so not ideal ...

mizzy Coogee (Australia)
... have just stayed at surfside hostel in coogee for a week, please see my seperate review for that. Coogee is a eastern beach suburb, its below bondi. You can walk between bondi and coogee in about an hour on the coastal path walk. Its fairly easy and there arent too many steps or hills, I saw whales from the wooden view point half way along! Coogee has a mixture of residents, theres backpackers, tourists coming for the day and locals. The beach is beautiful, and packed on a weekend. I really loved being able to sit on the beach at night and just cross the road from my hostel to get there. Theres no surfing on this beach, but plenty of people swim, theres a life savi...

fwsoames Penrhyn Castle
... wife and myself are both members of the National Trust and paid a visit to Penrhyn Castle a few weeks ago. Firstly the place isnt a castle. It was built in the 1830s to satisfy the vanity of the first Lord Penrhyn, an attempt to give the fellow a veneer of respectability he did not deserve. This chap was a Liverpool merchant who built his fortune on the production of sugar in the West Indies. More accurately he built his fortune on slave labour. As you wander through the rather sombre mock Norman halls you cannot shake off this essential fact. Everything that you see was built on the backs of slave labour. The next owner of this pile, Lord Penrhyn, was a chip of ...
