	Paluse (Lithuania) ... is a village in the Eastern part of Lithuania, a tiny place on a lake with the countries oldest surviving wooden church which has been made completely without nails. Rarely visited by foreigners but regularly by people from Vilnius, it lies at the heart of the Aukstaitija National Park and ironically rather close to the Nuclear Power Plant at Ignalina. The area is beautiful, a very leafy area with clear lakes and pure nature, lots of birdlife and a perfect place to relax. 	Skagway (Alaska) ... on a cruise to Alaska I was lucky enough to visit Skagway. Skagway is from the Tlingit name for the area Skagua meaning a windy place with white caps on the water. It is situated at the north end of the Lynn Canal in Alaska at the head of the Taiya Inlet and is 90miles northwest of Juneau the capital city which has the nearest major airport. The flight in a small plane takes about 45 minutes, weather permitting. Skagway is the northern terminal for the Alaska marine Highway system and carrys cars and passengers from Canada. 	Korcula ... arrived in Korcula by ferry from Split. When you dock in the habour you pull in beside a mixture of fishing boats and big luxury yachts. We stayed for three nights before leaving by ferry for Dubrovnik. We stayed in an apartment in the old town not far from the main church. The streets all fan out in a slight curve from the main square in order to make the most of the wind which acts as a natural air conditioning unit. We had booked our apartment in advance.
