Dar Es Salaam ... have lived in Dar Es Salaam for two years now. It is a huge city in Tanzania, East Africa, which lies next to the Indian Ocean. Dar Es Salaam means House of Peace in Arabic. Dar Es Salaam is the largest city in Tanzania, but it is not the Capital, Dodoma is. It has a population of almost 3 million, which is ever growing due to mass urbanisation, and is considered the primary city where government resides. The Tanzanian people are very friendly. The national language is Kiswalhili. The city has a massive natural habour. As you drive along the coast, you can see all the huge tankers and freight ships waiting, in line for many days, to off load their cargo. The facilit... Marrakech (Morocco) ... went to Marrakech in Morocco as part of my trecking holiday. Having flown in to the Marrakech airport from Gatwick I noticed a sudden change in temperatures! When I went there I found that whilst it was very hot, being around the 30 degrees to 40 degrees mark it wasn t humid so it didn t really feel as hot as it was. Marrakech is definately one of my favourite cities as it really does have so much to offer. The shops in the main central market are full of charm and it really is just a wonderful place to be. Unlike in England, the markets have these mopeds that go really quickly around! I must also warn you that if you are a westerner like me then you will be pestered ... Taba Heights (Egypt) ... went to Taba Heights with my boyfriend 4 years ago, and no holiday since has matched up in terms of a relaxing beach holiday, so we went back again this month. Here is my summary: The Location: Taba Heights is located around 40 minutes drive from Taba airport in Egypt. It is useful to note that it is a tiny airport with nothing to do, just the one room, and on the way home you will generally be dropped off by your tour company 2 - 3 hours before your flights. So I would definitely recommend having a good book or some games ready! The Resort in General: Taba Heights is not really much more than a stretch of 4 - 5* luxury beachfront hotels.
