Atlanta (USA) Reviews

Newest Review: ... ate 7 out of 10 meals! I was so pleased with one meal in there when it was placed in front of me I actually took a picture of how lovely it was (Pork chops with veg and potato if your wondering). Also part of the mall was the incomparable Dairy Queen, A sushi bar, Pizza place, Doughnut and Cookie shops. As well as a wide range of other fast food outlets. There was also an electronic store were the guy wanted to charge us $16 for a travel adaptor ( I bought one when I got home for 99p!). Not far from the hotel was a Dominos Pizza, A Hard rock Cafe and even a hooters bar as well as a quiznos. These were all within walking distance. The... more

My girlfriend and I Travelled to Atlanta in late January and have to say it is an amazing City. We stayed in the Sheraton Atlanta which was a wonderful Hotel with great service and a wonderfully friendly and helpful staff who couldn't so enough for us. The room we had was massive, it had a 32" Flat Screen TV, A walk in Closet, 2 Magnificent Beds, A fridge. In fact you name it we had it. They had 2 bars and restaurants which I would say were a little bit on the expensive side for my liking!. Luckily we were only a few minutes walk away (uphill) to a mall which not only had shops but a massive food hall with a ton of choices, from the ... Read the complete review

Atlanta doesn’t appear to be a touristy area. Most of the places to visit etc are just as much for the locals as visitors. This meant that it was cheaper than similar cities and more compact and easy to get around. We found most things within walking distance of our hotel – Embassy Suites at Centennial Park. If further away the local transport system MARTA was easy to use and very cheap. We went in July and temperatures were in the high eighties/low nineties an the humidity was very high. This made walking around a little uncomfortable, but mornings and evenings were quite pleasant. We went to the Coke factory, where you go on a self tour ... Read the complete review

Before starting this review I must admit to being hugely biased. I had wanted to visit it for years, and when I eventually did it was during a holiday in which my girlfriend and I got engaged (aah!). Therefore it has very special memories for me. Atlanta has been described as the Los Angeles of the South. Such a comment is grossly unfair to a wonderful city, which has a lot more green space in it, more space to move around in and a generally more relaxed feel about it. Atlanta was the host of the Summer Olympics in 1996 and because of this the city is still enjoying a boom, as well as an immense showing of civic pride. As well as the Olympics the Super ...
