Atlantic City (USA) Reviews

Atlantic City (USA) Destination International

Newest Review: ... the day before we arrived and I was gutted that I missed them. Anyway, we were staying in the Borgata, one of Atlantic City's newest hotels built towards the back of the resort. If you are staying here you really need a car as it is quite difficult to get to the main part of the resort without one. I had read some reviews before we went and they were all pretty poor so I wasn't expecting much. The Borgata is a 2,000 room casino hotel with a 161,000 square foot casino, 12 restaurants, a 2,400 seat event centre, spa, shops and water club. I honestly cannot begin to describe the facilities on offer here. It is simply mind boggling. The staff... more

My first real visit to the states involved a villa holiday to Florida so I never really felt as though I had experience the true essence of the US. My second trip however took me a little more under the skin and involved a mini road trip along the east coast, fist stop Atlantic City. Cheese, frankly, is what America is best at. The corny, the overdone, bright lights and no substance. Atlantic City is just that. The beach was uncrowded - mostly because it is just nasty. Most people were more interested in the gambling. Sideshow games along the boardwalk catered to the junior gamblers among the crowds. We took a casino bus from PA, a one day trip which cost us $25 - minus the $11 casino voucher. You'd think that somewhere like Bally's, which seemed fairly upmarket, would be a nice place. When we got there, we went up to a cafe on the 6th floor - at which I had the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant, ever. ...  Read the complete review
