Paradise on Earth indeed. The place is so gorgeous it's not true. I recoiled in shock on seeing it because it's actually more beautiful than the postcards in real life. The beaches are great as is the rainforest. The mountains are high though, kind of an obvious point but I got altitude sickness since you come up from sea level which is not fun. Personally I think the sea is the best bit - go scuba diving the fish and coral are absolutely wonderful, the sea is crystal clear and warm and the sensation is exquisite. Absolute paradise! This is one of the most beautiful and amazing places I have ever visited. This island has everything - gorgeous palm fringed lagoons with turquoise water and turtles swimming by the shore, active volcanoes and desolate black lava deserts, calm rolling cattle country and lush tropical rainforests with dramatic waterfalls (parts of Jurassic Park were filmed here). You can buy fantastic tropical fruits and flowers in the local markets, along with coffee beans and macadamia nuts which are the major products of the island.
