TigerMystery Rockhampton (Australia): ... East coast of Australia, sits right on the Tropic of Capricorn. Getting there: Easily accessible by car from the Bruce Highway. Can also be reached by bus, train and plane. Things to do: Eat a steak: Rockhampton is the beef capital of Queensland. They like to remind you of this by placing lots of random cow statues around the city. I had a nice one at O Dowd s, an Irish pub on William Street. Rockh...

TigerMystery Mackay
... East Coast, north of Rockhampton, south of the Whitsundays. Very easily accessible if you have your own transport; it is also accessible by rail, bus and air. Things to do: Mackay was hit by an cyclone in 1918 which destroyed a lot of their buildings. When they rebuilt them, the popluar style at the time was Art Deco. Thus there are a lot of Art Deco buildings to be seen in Mackay. We picked up an information leaflet in the visitor s centre, and spent the day visiting these. I found this very interesting, and in fact have now developed quite an interest in the Art Deco style. The city is built on a grid system of streets, so is fairly easy to navigate. ...

... in the middle of nowhere (about halfway between Adelaide and Alice Springs). You either need to have your own transport, or visit as part of a bus tour. It took about 12 hours to get here from Adelaide, and then a further 12 hours to get to Alice Springs. Accomodation: there are couple of different hostels and hotels to stay in. I won t list them here because you can probably find basic info about them via a search engine. However, I will mention the one I stayed in. It was called Umoona, and as with all the other buildings in this town, was underground. This was a little spooky, but also a great novelty. It was like living in hollowed out cave; people in Coob...

emmakate06 Penrhyn Castle
... recently visited Penrhyn Castle with my husband and 3 children, two of whom are under the age of 2 and are therefore in a double buggy. We decided to visit Penrhyn Castle after picking up a leaflet regarding the property. The advertising leaflet states that it is suitable for all ages, and that there is something for everyone. I actually really disagree with this statement and we were left very disappointed with our visit. Firstly, the first thing I should point out is that Penrhyn Castle isnt actually a castle and is in fact a stately home. It is a beautiful property located on the outskirts of Bangor, North Wales and is conveniently located a short distance away from...
