I am a young male. I went to Thailand for what was meant to be around 2 weeks. I ended up staying for 2 months. Thailand is the only place on this plant I have been to that I can say with everything in my heart that it is paradise and a place that unfortunately is becoming westernized. The second I stepped off the plane in Bangkok airport I was surrounded by this immense feeling of humidity which felt like it consumed me slowly. Looking up I saw a bright blue sky with a couple of whisky clouds in the sky. It was 11:30am and after the 14hours to get here I was already feeling excited and filled with adrenaline. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand is a place which you will either love or hate. Whilst travelling around Thailand for a few months last year, Bangkok was our first taste of Thailand. After doing much research on Thailand I was expecting the craziness which is Bangkok, so when we arrived I really appreciated the city. However, the same cannot be said for my partner who did not like how busy Bangkok was and he believes that Bangkok is not a true representation of what Thailand as a country has to offer. I do agree with this partly as Bangkok is very very busy and definitely crazy, but if you are expecting this before you go I believe that you will find Bangkok to be an ... Read the complete review

In any event, Bangkok is the capital city of the Kingdom of Thailand, a hot, humid, sprawling metropolis covering nearly 600 square kilometres and home to over 6 million people, making it easily the largest city in the country. Bangkok (knows as Krung Thep to the Thais) has been the capital of Thailand (formerly Siam, which changed its name in 1939) since the late 18th century, when King Taksin Rama 1 relocated from over the river in Thon Buri. There are, as one may imagine with any major capital, a plethora of sights to see and experience in Bangkok, ... Read the complete review

Boy is this city different! Going there as someone who'd only been to the Canary Islands and France it was one hell of a culture shock, of course you read all about it on the internet, watch things on youtube etc but nothing really prepares you for it. First off, heading out of that exit at the airport and the most incredible heat just hits you, it is like permanently walking around in a sauna, the breeze doesnt cool you down the air is so hot its just like having a fan heater in your face constantly. But a regular whinger about the weather in England I cant complain about that! We got a taxi, which I think ended up about 50p for a 40minute drive ... Read the complete review

A couple years ago, I toured Asia with my parents and we added Bangkok on our list of places to see. I must admit that, not having heard much about this particular place, I was not looking forward to going over there, and neither could I understand why my parents were so eager to see a place where they've already been before. Yet, the moment I set foot at Bangkok, I was as overwhelmed like them by the friendliness and excitement of the city. We stayed at a small three-star hotel called the Regent. Even if it was not among the most luxurious hotels of the city, we were pretty satisfied by the quality of ours. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, ... Read the complete review
