BoracayNewest Review: ... Beach is the main area, and it is gorgous. White sand and lovely blue water, no rocks or seaweed in the water and it is quite shallow and calm. Boracay is the most popular tourist beach destination in the Philippines. It is a small island approx. 7km long and 1km wide at its thinnest point. White Beach is the main area, and it is gorgous. White sand and lovely blue water, no rocks or seaweed in the water and it is quite shallow and calm. It is a great place to combine a paradise beach setting whilst also having excellent facilities. It can get quite busy, and hawkers selling boat tours and other activities can be annoying. So head to somewhere like palawan if you want to play Robinson Crusoe instead. But if you can ignore the people selling stuff, this is a great beach destination. There are ... Read the complete review

Boracay is known as The Philippines' most beautiful island and regularly features in top ten lists for 'The best beaches in the world'. Being so highly rated, I decided I had to visit it in June 2008, to decide for myself if it really is that good. *** Getting there *** In order to get to Boracay, you have to fly from Manila to either Caticlan or Kalibo. There are many flights every day to both airports with various different airlines. The cheapest offers seem to be with Asian Spirit and Cebu Pacific. I flew with Asian Spirit and the short 1 hour flight was fine with them. From Caticlan, you take one of the many small boats across ... Read the complete review

I couldn't wait it sounded like a dream come true. But when we arrived what a short sharp shock we had, the place was definately a tourist trap for the locals of the Philipines and also the hiding place of many different old foreign men who had a rather po faced young money leaching ... The only way to get to Boracay is by boat, flying from Manila to either Caticlan or Kalibo airports, you will be transferred to the point from which you may take a boat across to Boracay, there is no harbour on the island, the boats simply come as close as they safely can, and then you must wade ashore onto the famous white beach. This world renowned white beach is probably Boracays best known feature. It is possible to relax all day on the hot white sand, or for the more energetic there are a wide variety of water based activities, from the flying fish or the banana boat, or even the surfing for which Boracay is justly famous. If you want to get away ... Read the complete review
