I went to Calella a couple of years ago as we found a deal that was really cheap - we paid £180 pp for a week long all inclusive holiday! The drive from the airport was quite long I remember it taking about an hour and a half as everyone's drop off points were before ours (typical!). There isn't a lot to do in Calella I found which may be a problem if you are taking children, there are no theme parks or water parks close. Nightlife in Calella also isn't great, there are a few clubs but nothing much, which can be seen as good or bad depending on what you are after! During the last ten years we have visited this resort three or four times. This is purely because some years in desperate need of some rest and relaxation but on a tight budget you won't get better value for money. Moving house and spending money on the home does not always leave a hefty amount for our annual holiday. So if you need some guaranteed sunshine and a total break from the home life this is the place to go. ( If your not too fussy.)
