Calas De Majorca / Mallorca is a modern purpose built resort on the east coast of the island . The transfer time into resort from the airport is approx. 1.5 - 2 hrs... Overall the resort is quiet and generally relaxed, and is probably best suited to the travellers wanting a base to explore from. Public transport on the east coast is not reliable at all - you can catch a bus that takes you into Palma, but a word or warning - make sure you take some extra money with you, just in case the bus driver decides he has had enough for the day and goes home - it has been known to happen, and for the tourists that wasnt aware of the laid back public transport - have ... After the stress of finishing my second year of University last summer and my sister’s somewhat larger stress of completing her AS levels my parents treated us to a week long sun bathing holiday in the Calas de Majorca region of Majorca. We stayed in the Clubhotel Riu Tropicana which is part of the Riu chain of hotels and is situated about 2km from the centre of the resort. calas de mallorca is a very small tourist resort situated around 65km from palma (transfers from the airport take around 1 1/2 hours) and 15 km from manacor & felanitx. the season usually starts around beginning of may & finishes around the end of october. for a small town (more like a village in winter, with only 70ish residents) it has around 11 hotels: canarios park, club eurocalas, chihuahuas, mastines, balmoral, maria eugenia, calas park, america, samoa, malaga1 (now selling off apartments at around 48-52,000 euros& not a hotel anymore!), topaz and cala domingos. by way of entertainment, there are plenty of bars to choose from. the most popular ...
