Newest Review: ... 'Boston's Left Bank', it is on the other side of the Charles River to Boston. It took us around 10 minutes in a cab to reach the centre of Boston. You can also take the T (The Boston Subway) from Harvard Square into Boston. Harvard University Harvard was founded in 1636; old by anyone's standards, but especially in America! It is one of the world's most respected seats of learning. The university is spread out over Cambridge, but most of the historical buildings are situated in Harvard Yard. Just over a year ago I booked flights to Boston for a long weekend with my mum. As I had booked at the last minute, many of the hotels in Boston were booked-up and/or very expensive. My travel agent (Trailfinders) advised me to try looking at hotels in Cambridge which is just over the river from the centre of Boston. I did this and booked into the Hyatt Regency Cambridge; I'm very glad I did, Cambridge is a great place to stay. Overview: Cambridge is home to Harvard and MIT, with a large student population it has a truly cosmopolitan and vibrant atmosphere.
