... went to Antigua in July last year as part of a cricket touring party and stayed at the Jolly beach resort, where self catering houses were on offer. As i understood it they were part of a large development that people had bought and then were able to rent to holiday makers. I really enjoyed my stay at this resort. It was like a self contained island which i felt took away some of the personality of the island but was clearly aimed at travellers. The resort contained a number of places to eat including a tandoori would you believe, ran by a man from Nottingham which is very near to my home! ... is quite simply the most beautiful place on Earth. In July last year I embarked on a cricket tour to the Caribbean which included a stay at the Flamboyant Hotel on Grand Anse Beach. I loved every second. It was massively heart-warming to see this Island has been able to rebuild having suffered terrible damage due to a hurricane in 2005. The place does not seem to have been affected by the tourist fever other locations like Antigua and Barbados perhaps have, it remains true to all of its roots. ... is a commercial city located in the south-west of England and is just to the north of the English Channel, but the problem is you have to drive to Dover in order to cross the channel and arrive at Calais, a town in the north of France. A boat trip with the Brittany Ferries is also available which goes directly to Santander, a city in the north of Spain. I think it s quite expensive just for a one day/night trip but then again the lavish restaurants and the fully equipped cabin rooms are the majority of the price.
