When we got there it was a bit manic as people were arriving but also departing and it was very busy. Our chalet was absolutely lovely it about half way of the scale of choice (the nicer the chalet the more expensive!) so we were very ... more

I had visited centre parcs in various locations across the country as a child and remember it being absolutely brilliant! As an adult and parent myself years later we went camping to Wiltshire and visited Longleat and it poured down all week and we made a promise that next year we would go and stay at centre parcs! We rang up as we had a code from the paper to give discount and the guy on the phone attually said he had a better code we could use and we ended up getting a 4 bedroom chalet at a very good price - we got 4 bedroom as we were going 50/50 with another friend and his wife and 2 kids so it worked out at just under £200 each for 5 days. The first time I went to Center Parcs I was expecting something really naff along the lines of a cheesy Bultins holiday but I was completely surprised and had a great time. I visited the site in Sherwood Forest Village, Nottingham with family and friends. I would say you may struggle to get there unless you have car, public transport in the area was not very helpful so if you're not a car driver invite somebody along who is! We stayed in a self catered villa with 4 bedrooms that could accomodate up to 8 people. The villa was very nice, there was a well equipped kitchen and patio furniture if you fancied eating outside. I would suggest staying in ...  Read the complete review

When i was a child my mum used to take us to sherwood forest 2 - 3 times a year, And we absolutly loved it, My mum especially. They are alot of activities to do what ever your age. Theres archery, clay pigeon shot, tennis, badmington and football to name but a few. They are also water activities such as pedalos, canoes and water skiing. They do charge for these but they aren't expensive. I stay in the comfort villa as i have been told that the expensive villas are showy on the outside but not looked after on the inside. The 3 bedroom comfort villas are spacious with a double bedroom, a twin room and a single bedroom with bunkbeds. ...  Read the complete review

I had visited centre Parcs a few times when i was younger with my mum and dad and quite frankly I thought it was the best place on earth. As a young girl your dream is to be in a place filled with fun things to do and surrounded by your family in the middle of the woods. Since growing up and having my own child i have visited Centre parcs again and lets just say its not as good as i remember. I dont know if this was due to the fact that I was paying for it this time or that its just not how I remember. I have only ever visited Elvedon Forest so unfortunately cannot comment on the other parks but I have heard they are all much of a muchness and not a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Center Parcs: A World Within A World, Without Cars (443 words)

I went to the CenterParcs located at Sherwood Forest for a hen do. It was a lot better than I expected it to be. We rented 4 of the standard cabins which were nice, fairly clean (only one spider that we saw! I didn't go in that bedroom!) and within easy walking distance of all the amenities. One little gripe that we had was that, although we made the booking of 4 cabins together, they were all fairly far apart. CenterParcs is like Butlins used to be but better. There's a fantastic water park bit, where there's a wave pool, a lazy river, a not-so-lazy river and even a cold dunk pool. The lazy river actually takes you outside and although I was dreading that, ...  Read the complete review
