Advantages: Quiet, calm, no traffic, loads for young children, family friendly, safe.... need i say more!
Disadvantages: none!
My husband, 2 year old son and I went to Longleat in February this year for a midweek break. Everyone had said "it's so expensive!" but none of them had actually been themselves.
Accommodation:
We stayed in a Comfort 2 bedroom villa. it was clean, spacious and had everything provided. Including potty highchair and cot (proper wooden one with matress!)There was a bath and shower, open fire, dining table and a handy wet/boiler room for keeping mucky shoes and pushchairs!
Restaurants:
The restaurants were spacious with buggy parks inside. Opening times were suited to young children. The staff were very helpfull and patient. The menus were very good for both adults and children. Not all the childrens food came with chips, and they also had very good vegetarian choices.
Activities:
Loads to do without spending much.
We hired 2 bikes for the week at a reasonable cost, one with a toddler seat on the back. We cycled around to all areas of the park. Our son loved saying hello to all the people whilst flying past and spotting all the wild birds and animals. Once everyone is in on either monday or friday the parks are then closed to cars so it is very safe.
The swimming pool and slides were great fun and very clean. The big slides are suitable for children 2yrs and up, but there are smaller ones for babies and toddlers. There is also a special session for toddlers before the pool open to the rest of the visitors. This gives the little ones a chance for fun with people their own size!
I could go on all day singing the praises but think anyone should try it themselves. We are going back!!!! soon i hope!
Summary: A safe and activity filled holiday spending quality time as a family close to home.

- 23/04/06 Welcome to dooyoo. This was a nice summary of your visit, but I think you need to offer more details and specific points (such as prices as mentioned below) to get higher ratings. Try to put yourself in the place of a prospective visitor reading a review for information to decide whether or not to go to this resort - what would you want to know? |

- 20/04/06 You opened your review by saying that people had said it was expensive but didn't really have much idea because they had not been. You have, and didn't tell the public really what kind of expense was involved. Hope this helps, as it really could be valuable information for a family to know. Loved the personal details about your experience though. Rachel X |
