Advantages: Accomodation

Disadvantages: Expensive

Me,my boyfriend and our daughter have just returned from our 7 night stay at Centerparcs Whinfell. We have all had a great time and have come back refreshed (although wet with the rainy weather. What did we expect as it was October!).Firstly I will comment on the accomodation. We stayed in the 2 bedroom comfort villas in Badgers Wood.It was very clean and tidy. The villa was ten times better than Sherwood and is pleasing to the eye. Both bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms and showers.Excellent if you have kids as you get some privacy during the night. We were very impressed I can tell you.
The restaurants were a different matter. We ordered takeaway pizza from Lucianos. The service was great. We ordered from our accomodation (they have a phone to all areas of the park). It was ready in 25 minutes and we collected it from the restaurant. We bought two pizzas, garlic bread and salad with a bottle of cola for £20.00.All the pizzas were hard and cold and if I had bought it to eat in it would have been double the price and probably still cold and hard.
It didnt really get any better than that so we ate in our (very well stocked) kitchen.
The Parcmarket was excellent although the service was shocking.Very long queues and not enough staff.Although they were very friendly.
The stay overall was very expensive as the kids had extra activities booked every day. This can work out as an extra £250.00 on the costs of the holiday.
The activities are very well organised and the staff at the Information Centre were brilliant and very helpful when I double booked my daughter for kayaking and quad biking.
We managed to squeeze in some pampering during our stay and the Aqua Sana was beautiful and did the job in relaxing me with the spa. This was £32.00 for three hours but I believe you can get this discounted for £23.00 if you have children at Time Out Club.Still it was worth every penny.
We were very fortunate to have a badger visit us at our villa on our last night and saw numerous red squirrels outside in the trees.
Overall we loved it and, although expensive,it is worth it as it is a fabulous holiday for all ages.

We ate in at Lucianos and couldn't fault the food however takeway you should have the same service.
We ate at Yang and that was a fantastic experience although we have just returned on the 3rd oct and we had our treatment cancelled as one of the staff called in sick!
