Advantages: Everything on site - pool great fun and open till late.
Disadvantages: None really - wish all the accommodation was wooden structure.
Visited Sherwood Forest last weekend. Comfort villa.
Kitchen and bathroom very clean. Kitchen well stocked (utensils etc... not food). Bedrooms clean - might be worth taking extra sheet and pillowcase as bedsheets a bit noisy (waterproof I suppose) and spare pillows don't have cases. Heating very good and fire logs good - £8 for 3 - each one lasts longer than 2 hours. Extra loo a good idea and nicely placed in entrance hall for privacy as main bathroom opposite kitchen - there could be a clash of odours. Only downside for me was the sofa had mould on it. When I took the sofa cushions off to straighten it that put me off a bit. Facilities really good - we had 3 teenagers 17 (boy), 14 (girl) and 12 (boy). All absolutely loved the pool - better than they thought. Rapids and wave machine favourite. Spent hours in there. Kids took their bikes and used them fully. I enjoyed taking the dog a walk - had to be on the lead most of the time but depending on the time of day and exactly where you are you can let the dog off - if it is well behaved but beware pheasants and squirrels if your dog has chasing tendencies. Swans came up to the door for food. Squirrel came up to the window for food. This was our first time so we just wanted to have a recce - would go again although would be nice to upgrade accommodation, and would probably book an activity. Restaurants all looked okay, we went to huckleberry's - quite expensive to eat out so it's best to take own food and alcohol. Even though the place was really busy we felt like we were on our 'own' holiday as nobody bothers anybody else and everyone is respectful - no yobs or shouting etc late at night. Nice to know the kids are safe. Overall a good break - yes it is expensive but there is loads to do and I don't know anyone who wouldn't enjoy the pool. Would have loved to visit the Aqua Sana but if went again would plan the weekend and pre-book. A weekend was long enough for me as it can all get a bit stepford after a bit.
Summary: Would return but pre-book couple of activities.
