We visited Center Parcs in Longleat, Wiltshire in December 2008 and really enjoyed the experience. As a young couple we enjoyed our executive apartment. It was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. It was also very conveniently located next to the Plaza which houses the swimming pool, shop and a couple of restaurants.

We took bikes and enjoyed exploring the forest. We also purchased five day passes for the wonderful Aqua Sana spa, which gave us unlimited access for £50 each. This is great value as the facilities are stunning- better than dedicated spas we have visited. There are a number of saunas and steam rooms to enjoy, an outdoor jacuzzi, water beds and various relaxation rooms. The changing facilities are also lovely and clean and warm. The swimming pool is also great fun, even in December!

The one thing that lets Center Parcs down for us is the food outlets. We visited the Sports Cafe, which was like bad mass produced pub food but at more than twice the price you would pay on the High Street. We also visited Cafe Rouge, which was mediocre at best. The food highlight was Rajinda Pradesh, the Indian restaurant in the Jardin des Sport where the food was fantastic, but the service was surly and the bill rather large.

If you're happy to self-cater the majority of the time then I think this is a great holiday with some lovely facilities. However, unfortunately the over priced, poor standard food does let it down.
