Advantages: great wildlife

Disadvantages: none

I have been here 3 times and each time the accommodation has detiorated. When I first stayed at Longleat I was absolutely knocked out with the accommodation and the last time I stayed there (a year ago) I was very dissappointed in the dirty and tatty condition of it. We even had damp beds to sleep in and dirty smelly carpets.

What I loved about Centre Parks was the wildlife it is just outside your patio doors. I stayed up late one night with the patio curtains open and watched badgers, and foxes right outside my window! In the morning my son was thrilled to see squirrels coming just inside the accommodation for nuts and was fascinated watching them digging little holes to bury them in. To me this is what Center Parcs is all about not the sub-tropical swimming paradise etc but feeling like you really are away from it all.

We stayed in Executive Accommodation. When we first stayed here this accommodation was first class but unfortunately it has not been looked after very well and is starting to look a bit tired now. There is an open plan kitchen which is very nice and has everything you need.

There are plenty of places to eat out but again very expensive and I quite enjoyed going off on my bike to get the bacon and eggs from the mini market and cooking our breakfast anyway. My son loved the indoor sub-tropical swimming paradise and spent every single day there.

With regards to cycling. It is a lovely idea to imagine everyone leisurely cycling round the wonderful countryside when in fact it is now getting to the point were mostly teenagers and tearing down the lanes at break neck speed and it is not a pleasant experience anymore especially for those who are walking.

Longleat is VERY hilly so may not be suitable for some people. There is also quite a lot of walking involved to get anywhere which I quite enjoyed but again has to be taken into consideration for more infirm people. At longleat there is a lovely lake and beach and the staff there are fantastic and very friendly.

There is an awful lot to do at Longleat or any Center Parcs but after having spent the past 3 year's visiting Center Parcs and seeing the detioration in the accommodation I am no longer prepared to pay the very high prices. For these high prices I expect the best and unfortunately it no longer appears to provide this.

Yours is a very helpful review, but I don't understand why you said "worth the money" when you clearly think it wasn't ??
