A great way to spend a long weekend (Center Parcs)

Advantages: Lots of activites to choose from; lovely setting

Disadvantages: Could get expensive if eating/drinking out every day

For my boyfriend's birthday in February we spent the weekend at the Longleat Forest Center Parcs. We went as a group of 8 (all in our mid-twenties) and stayed in the Woodland Lodge accommodation. The Lodge was lovely; fairly new, very fresh and clean, with spacious bedrooms and a really decent kitchen (with dishwasher). On our patio there was a brick-built barbecue and patio table and chairs, which again seemed pretty new.

We hired bikes for £21.50 each (online booking price) which was well worth it for the amount of time spent cycling around. The great thing about Center Parcs is that you can do as little or as much as you want to, for as little or as much money as you want to spend! We chose to play Adventure Golf which was fun but a bit frustrating as we often had to wait quite a while for the people in front of us to complete each hole. I'd recommend only doing the 9 holes rather than 18 as it gets a little tedious. We also booked in a game of outdoor bowls which surprisingly was a real laugh! Each day we made full use of the swimming pool, which you don't pay any extra for. There are a few slides and brilliant rapids, as well as an outdoor jacuzzi and plunge pool.

There's a good selection of restaurants on the site, but we chose to take all our food and alcohol with us to save money! The one time we did end up going to the bar we found the prices to be ok, cheaper than London prices, but not great.

Overall we had a fantastic time and all agreed that we'd definitely go again!!
