Advantages: High Quality, Great activities, Friendly staff
Disadvantages: Platform 5
Visited the newly rebuilt center parcs in Elvedon last weekend. I can't believe that Center parcs continue to amaze me. A bit of history. Center Parcs in Elvedon had a major fire last year. It totally gutted the main complex. This was my first visit back to Elvedon and all I can say is WOW!!! Firstly the staff, they are amazing. Without exception everyone was friendly and very proffessional, they are a credit to the company. The actual complex has been rebuilt. Originally all the major facilities were under the one dome. ( something I quite liked). Now there is a large open plan walkway between the resturants and the sports complex. Resturants, very good. I remember Center parcs when they had the 70's style resturants. Today they ar modern, clean and very child friendly. Just visit Hucks to see a giant play area. Great to get those little monsters off your hands while you eat. the sports cafe has improved a million percent. It now serves good food all day, plus loads of Sky Tv screens around. The only downfall is the new "PLATFORM 5" food area. It's a vast diner but the menu's are poor. Unless you enjoy chips, hotdogs etc avoid Platform 5. Hopefully center parcs will revamp this soon. (Burgers would be nice!!) The swimming area has a familiar feel about it, but on closer inspection you'll find a dedicated child area (where the aqua sauna was). The area contains smaller pools and water slides, perfect for under 8's The sports facilities have been generally modernised and still offer the vast range as before. The rooms are mostly the same, still of high quality. Fully equiped kitchens etc My recommendation is to visit Center Parcs. If you've been before, the new Elvedon will NOT dissapoint. If you're a new visitor, the quality, the range, the feel of the place makes this a top banana holiday. I know it can be costly, but swimming is free, bring your own
food, the kids will love the forest setting.

- 18/03/04 That was a really good op. I would actually consider going there for a short break. It sounds like a great getaway. But i guess it is more for families than couples. Good to see that you're back writing opinions! £400 each or all in? |
