Advantages: something for everyone, good value for money, child friendly

Disadvantages: accommodation needs work

Oasis Whinfell is located just a couple of miles off Jct 40 on the M6, its easy to get to and the views are amazing. Check in was straight forward and quick, however, you cannot take your car to your villa for unloading until 3:30pm so be prepared to go swimming or take part in activity until this time.
The main part of the parc is the dome, this contains most of the places to eat - Italian, Indian, burger King, takeaway pizza, American restaurant, cafes and a bar prices rangeing from £3 for soup at the french cafe to £12.50 for a dish at the Indian, £11.50 for takeaway pizza. Oh, and all the restaurants provide FREE baby food with warming facilities. You will also find the super market (of which the prices arent bad and it is very well stocked for most of your needs), childrens creche (what a relief!! price = £15 for 3 hrs) and the swimming pool.
The swimming pool was great! plenty of lockers and family changing rooms very clean as well, prams cannot be taken in but there are play pens and high chairs available at the poolside, floater vests are provided for toddlers and there is plenty of seating available too. It may be best if you take your own sandwiches as the food bar at the pool is very small very limited and over priced.
The sports plaza is just a short walk round the lake, it is where most of the activities take place, booking your activites can only be done the day before so get there early! you'll be paying about £4.50 for aerobics upto £30 for a pony trek but my goodness what a choice of activities!. There is a sports shop and a sports bar in here, food is served quickly and the best thing is that there is a soft play area for the kids while you eat and watch footie on TV!!
The Aqua Sana is next to the sports plaza for those who like to be pampered, prices are expensive but very enjoyable!! There is also a chinese restaurant next to the these facilities.
There are plenty of free things for the kids eg the soft play areas in the r
estaurants and fantastic parks!
The accommodation was the only place on the whole parc that was a little disappointing I'm afraid, we were in a 4 bedroomed standard woodland lodge and although the lodge itself was huge, lots of space and the layout was lovely, it was dirty and in desperate need of some maintenence, the sofa's were badly stained, the cooker was falling out of the kitchen unit and the bathrooms were also grubby BUT we didnt let this spoil our holiday, we cleaned it ourselves and ate out anyway!! an Iron and ironing board are provided along with all the kitchen utensils, bedding and TV, TOWELS are not provided.
All in all we had an excellent holiday, would I go again - definately, recommend it? without a doubt! lots to do, lots of fresh air, plenty to keep kids happy, and you can do and spend as much or as little as you want!!

We stayed in the apartments, near the lake. They were very clean, but quite basic. I had heard that the lodges were a little threadbare. I hope you had a good whinge about it though, as its not cheap.

Try the Longleat site. Its really nice.
