Cha-amNewest Review: ... so inviting! The restaurants were fabulous and you could eat a steak dish for around £4 or a tradition green curry (my favourite) for around £3. The beers were cheap and we soon found out that the wine wasn’t too expensive either (considering we found it quite expensive in Bangkok!) You could eat 2 meals, with beer and a bottle of wine for 2 people for around £16! We made friends with quite a few of the locals here, and you soon find that these people are so inviting that you cannot help but love them to bits! CHA AM Most British tourists go to neighbouring Hua Hin, for their holiday whereas Cha-am is very much a Thai resort. There are many Thai people come here for their holiday break, or weekend break and we met a lot of families at our hotel, Regency Cha Am. You will find many of them come away from Bangkok to escape the bustle of City life. At weekends, the place came alive with Thai people coming down for the weekend. It took us nearly 3 hours to get from Bangkok to Cha Am, by taxi.
