Chuncheon nestles snugly below the forested peaks of the Diamond Mountains. With clear blue lakes to the east and west, the capital of Gangwon Province forms an idyllic gateway to Korea's major mountain recreation area and the wonderful East Sea coastline. Tragically overlooked by most visitors, this sleepy city of 200,000 inhabitants deserves more than just an overflight on the way to Seoraksan.
