Advantages: loads to do, the food!
Disadvantages: learn some Spanish before going
I went here a few years back and I've got to say I loved every minute of it. What is it? Well, it's a family sports resort priamrily, but it's also very Olympic athletes because of the quality of the equipment there. There's an Olympic sized swimming pool as well as a leisure one, badmington courts, squash courts, basketball courts, areobics, crazy golf and much much more! Pros. Everyone has easy access to everything. When you arrive, you get a token for each person in the room. to get hold of equipment, just hand over your token at the desk and hey presto they give you what you want. When you return the stuff, they give you your token back. The food is also a big pro in my opinion! I had the two meals inclusive deal. For breakfast and dinner there's an all you can eat buffet, wit hjust about everything you can imagine. Breakfast offers fry ups, fruit, pastries, juice, flavoured milk, hot drinks, cereal, the list goes on. And dinner has just as big a spread! I went the end of March and it was blazing hot so take your suncream. What else is on offer? There's the Square, where every evening there's a show of some sort, normally a band. There's another restuarant, a supermarket, shops and they offer excursions for an additional cost. There's also a night club but bare in mind if you're too noisy after midnight you will be arrested. Excursions. These vary in price. When I went they started at 11,000pts so things will be different now. I went on two trips. A camel safari which I would recomend to anyone. You trek on the back of the animals for around about an hour and it really gives you the chance to see the sights of the island. The other one I went on was the El Golfo Firemountains tour. This takes you down to the beach through the volcanos of the island. You end up at a restaurant on top of a dormant volcano, where you see demonstrations, which I wo
n't spoil and have your dinner cooked over the heat of the volcano! Other excursions on offer included a trip to the market and wind surfing. Make sure you book them in advance though. Cons? Not very many. Most people don't speak much English, so it would help if your learnt a bit of Spanish before going. Cost I can't really say as I went with my school so they obviously bumped up the price a bit. I went for a week and it cost in the region of £600 if i remember correctly. All in all though it's a great holiday where you can do as much or as little as you want. Definitely worth checking out!

- 23/03/04 My husband would like this place because of the sports. It'd be a bit too energetic for me though! |
