Advantages: Close to main attractions, beautiful, friendly

Disadvantages: Too windy

I booked a holiday here in Dec 05 for a week with my fiance and had a lovely time. I am a huge fan of the canaries and have been to all of the main four islands. Fuerteventura was my second island I had visited. We had allocated on arrival so I didn't really have a chance to research into what the area was like. However, i was very pleased to get corralejo....It is a gorgeous little fishing village with modernised features and places to visit aswell.
I would reccomend the market that they have there every week, you can get some great bargains and makes a lovely morning out aswell. But beware they can be a pit pushy, but remember most of the time they are willing to drop the price so don't be afraid to barter.
Corralejo also has a waterpark, which to be honest, we never visited as it was December, it wasn't quite hot enough for me. But we did have a good look in and did look like alot of fun.
We hired bicycles for a day, which I would highly reccomend, as Corralejo is quite flat and it's a great way to explore the area.
I would also highly reccomend visiting flag beach if you love golden sand and crystal clear water. You could be mistaken for being on a Carribean island with how tropical it looks. You can get a bus or taxi there for a few euros.
There are many other day trips you can take, one of them being a day trip to the small island of Lobos just off the coast of Corralejo. It doesn't take very long to get there and is well worth it in my opinion. It is very tiny, only has one little restaurant on it which pretty much only sells the catch of the day. It also has a few secluded beaches where you can snorkel or have a swim away from the busy beaches on the main island. Very picturesque too and it apparently has it's own native wildlife.
I would have liked to visit Jandia, but off course only being there a week doesn't give you much time to do everything.
All in all, a fantastic little island. The only downside for me is that it's obviously a very windy island, but possibly if you went in the midst of summer, that wind may be very much appreciated. As it was winter when we travelled, the wind was a bit strong and chilly.
I would definately visit again if I had the chance, but possibly in the summertime, just due to the high winds really. Apart from that, absolutely gorgeous. :-)

Summary: Definately a great place to holiday! :-)
