Advantages: nice little village in pleasant surroundings

Disadvantages: None

I've just done a review of Sakiai in Lithuania, a place with no real reason to visit yet with something about it just the same. Czchow in Poland is a similarly fitting place, only perhaps better looking. Rooted in the hills of Malopolskie, an area in the South of Poland relatively close to Krakow located between the gateway to the Pieniny Mountains - Nowy Sacz and the home of one of my favourite beers Okocim - Brzesko.

Whilst there is no real reason to go out of your way to visit Czchow, it is definitely worth turning off the road for a small visit. The main part of the village is perched on top of a hill with a pleasant little castle and a church. I doubt there is much in the way of accomodation but there's a supermarket open on Sundays!

There are a couple of lakes nearby, the closest being Jezioro Czchowskie and the latter being the larger and perhaps more idyllic Jezioro Roznowskie, the latter being worth a dip during hot months. The rolling hills are pleasant for a walk and it's definitely a place worthy of a picnic too. This village surrounded with greenery has little more going for it than those in the northern counties amenity wise but the surroundings and the housing of the south make it much more pleasant looking.

Summary: Pronounce it Tch...huv
