Review Topic: Sights & AttractionsReview Topic: Sights & AttractionsThe hidden city everyone is finding. The beaches are white as snow, the city is modern looking in all of the Condos and Hotels. This is not your party town that is about a 45 minute driving east in Panama City Beach. This is more a family oriented place to enjoy the beauty of the ocean and the beach. Destin lies on what is called the Emerald Coast, you can see the green emerald ocean and the beauty it provides. If you have never been on the Gulf side of Florida, you are missing it all. The Atlantic side has yellow sand beaches and most of the beaches allow cars to travel on them. I personally do not like having cars traveling between my Condo and the Ocean. The Gulf Shores are different, they have snow-white sand and do not allow any cars on the beach. Weather The weather in Destin is usually sunshine most of the time. You can watch the weather radar and it will rain around Destin, they do get rain, but they seem to miss a lot of rain that is in the area. Spring Average temperatures are between 80 to 90 degrees during the day and 50 to 70 degrees at night. Summer Average temperatures stay in the 90s during the day and 70s at night. Fall Average temperatures are in the 80s close to 90 degrees during the day and 50 to 60 degrees at night. Winter Average temperatures are 60s during the day and 40 to 50 degrees at night. Best time to go! I think September is the best time to go to Destin. You need to wait one week after Labor Day has passed and all Hotels and Condos are 40 to 50 percent cheaper than they were the week of Labor Day or before Labor Day. The weather is usually nice, 85 to 90 degrees and the beaches are almost empty. We love staying at the Seafarer Condominiums, it is located right on the beach and the rooms are slightly larger than other Condominiums. A one bedroom costs $1110 before Labor Day and after
it is only $690 for 7 nights. A one-bedroom unit is 865 square feet in size. This time of year you do not need a reservation, you can literally pick the place you want to stay at. You can get Condos under $500 for a week, but they are smaller and they will fill up quicker. One reason I do not like to make a reservation this time of year is, it is Hurricane season, so if a Hurricane is in the area, we make other plans. Restaurants Destin has all of your favorite restaurants, plus some you won't find anywhere else. Here are a few that we really enjoy when we are visiting. Back Porch - This is our favorite restaurant in the area. It is right on the beach, you can eat and look outside and see the beach and ocean. Prices run from about $8 to $20 depending on what you get. They have everything from fish, burgers, steaks, chicken and more and the serving size is good and will fill you up. All kinds of drinks, alcohol and non-alcohol. A souvenir shop for all your memories to take back home. Fudpuckers - This is what I consider a higher priced burger place, it is located on the main road. They also have a good variety to choose from and they do serve alcohol. Prices run from about $4 to $15 depending on what you get. The burgers are great and large in size. Bring a magic marker, because you can write your name anywhere you can find room, on the table, walls anywhere. A souvenir shop for all your memories to take back home. Barnhills - Do you like buffet? If so, this is the largest buffet restaurant I have been in. They are located about 20 minutes west of Destin in Fort Walton. "NO alcohol served," just soft drinks and water. Price is less than $8 a person, all you can eat and drink. When I said the largest, I mean row after row after row of food and desserts. Here you will find several choices beef, chicken, and seafood, not to mention all kinds of desserts. This is a must stop place for the food and the p
rice. Things to do 1.Deep Sea Fishing - This is almost unlimited; you can find a 1\2 day trip or an all day trip. 2.Scuba Diving - Several places that will give lesions and rent all the gear needed. 3.Snorkel - Do you like to Snorkel? If yes you can find several places that have everything you need, including boat trips to some nice places to Snorkel. 4.Windsurfing - Go windsurfing over the ocean by a Hugh boat pulling you along. 5.Go Karts - There are a couple of Go Kart tracks, not all season long.

Destin, Florida is a fun family vacation place. Located on the pan handle of Florida it is part of the Emerald Coast. It is in the Top Ten List of Best Beaches in USA. It has White sand and, clear clean water. They also have fun places to go like Big Kahunas, a water park, and The Track, a place with Go Karts and much more. They has resturaunts with some good food and entertainment, like McGuires, The Crap Trap, and Busters. I would definately recommend this for a fun vacation.

"Destin is a city in Okaloosa County, Florida, commonly known as "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village". Destin has grown from a historic fishing village to a premier resort destination. The city sits along the coast in the Florida Panhandle, at the end of a peninsula separating Choctawhatchee Bay from the Gulf of Mexico. It is famous for its emerald-colored waters and sugar-white sand beaches; hence, the area is also known as the Emerald Coast."
