Advantages: This is Africa, Interesting market, Friendly people

Disadvantages: This is Africa, very hot

We hired a taxi to take us there from Kololi round trip cost about £25. We left at the crack of dawn, to catch the ferry across to Barra. It was a long, hot, bumpy journey which took over five hours.
We took a local taxi (horse and cart) to the lumo (sunday market) very big and busy.
We stayed at Eddies Bar which was rather run down but very pleasant and friendly.
A double room for us, a single for the driver, evening meals, and drinks in the pretty garden came to under £20.
There are a couple of little local bars which were welcoming.
In the morning we bought fresh bread from the street stall and drove back taking a detour to visit some local Fulani villages which made us most welcome.
Farafenni is a large market town with little to offer in the way of entertainment, the streets are wide and dirty and lined with shops selling every day goods.Having said that we enjoyed walking round soaking up the atmosphere and colour.

Hi, welcome to dooyoo - I am the co-guide for the travel category. I would say that a basic requisite of a travel review would be to tell us where the place youe talking about is (especially when it is somewhere small and obscure). The only reference to it was the "Africa" mention in your pros and cons, which is a bit vague. What about other travel points that would be useful and interesting to read about? Why did you decide to go there, what is the climate, how expensive is it, what is the currency? etc.

Hi and a belated welcome to dooyoo, enjoy the site! Sorry for the rating, but you haven't even told us in which country the place is you've described,"This is Africa" is a bit thin, don't you think?
