Newest Review: ... you need to get out of places like Amsterdam, and visit smaller places like Groningen, which are off the beaten track a bit. The Night life in Groningen, is also good. There are many, clubs, bars and restaurants for you to visit, and have a good time. The shopping is lovely, and if you get a chance, you should visit the Grote maarkt on market day. There are plenty of stalls to keep you interested. A great place to go for some food, is De Goudkantoor. What an amazing place! My brother and I took a trip here in February 2008. We are Dutch, but live in England. Basically all of our family, comes from the south of The Netherlands, and so we had never taken a trip up to the North, until now! We flew into Amsterdam, and then took the train, straight into Groningen Centraal. It was really easy to get to, and not as expensive to have a week in, as say Amsterdam, or Rotterdam. The people were lovely, and we made some amazing friends! The architecture is wonderful, typically Dutch, and very beautiful.
