ahh......sweet Sri Lanka.........the people are lovely, but I found them to be great pests when your are trying to relax on the beach......and are very good at convincing you that you must buy whatever they are trying to sell!

Leaving our Hotel late at night to catch our flight, the bus took us through these overcrowded streets, and there was hardly a gap on the pavements for people sleeping rough.....there were bodies everywhere! It was another example of feeling very humble, staying in a beautiful Hotel with all this poverty right outside it's doors!
Food was good, but again wine was rather expensive as I would imagine most of it is imported! We went here part board, but think if I was to return would find it better to go fully inclusive!

All in all, this is an interesting place, but there is more to it than meets the eye........I think there could be alot of seedy goings on, as the children are so poor, think they may be vulnerable to not so genuine characters who visit this country!

The people are very nice, but maybe the fight to survive has turned many into con men trying to lure the tourist, and indeed, on the other hand, certain visitors who visit the country, perhaps go for ulterior motives rather than to relax and enjoy this country for it's weather & culture!!

Take care with the sun! Very hot!....and take care with the mosquitos too!

Summary: Nice weather, and an eye opener, but not sure about this place?!
