Advantages: Chidlrens' facilities, location, nice pub on site
Disadvantages: small rooms, noise/insulation of vans, some areas dated
We are - my Gran (79), Mum (54), Sister (27), Me (33) and my 18 month old son. We go away every year but since having my son we've found it harder to find a hotel to accomodate us cheaply enough so this year we opted for a 3 bedroom caravan at Hoburne Naish which is just outside Christchurch.
Location - Just off the A35 on the A337 outside New Milton. Within walking distance is a tesco metro (20 mins walk) in the village of Highcliffe. There is a bus service just outside the park that takes you in to Bournemouth (although haven't used it). The park is situated on a cliff edge (you can see where some of the park has, at some time, fallen in to the sea). There is a beach which is accessible from the park, through a woodland area and down some stairs, difficult, but not impossible, with a buggy but impossible if you have mobility issues.
Site facilities:
Indoor and Outdoor Pool - They are in the process of building/extending the swimming pool area to include a children's pool, spa facilities and a gym, this was desperately needed as their old facilities were inadequate (particularly the changing rooms). These are due to open in the next few months.
Children's entertainment:
Park - with a separate area for toddlers - both well kept and my little boy loved it.
Small indoor play area - good if fancy a drink as there is seating nearby
Mini golf course (which could possibly do with updating)
Tennis courts
Arcade games room.
There is also something on nightly in the entertainment hall (although we didn't go so cant comment)
Drinks/food:
Adults only bar
Pub - which isn't actually that over priced and is typical pub fayre food.
Kiosk - in the Arcade/crazy golf area selling drinks, ice creams etc
There is also a takeaway service, we didn't use this and I didn't see it so can't comment
Other facilities:
On site shop which sells basics that you may run out of, we just used the Tescos in Highcliffe.
Launderette
Caravan
We had one of the basic caravans, the bedrooms were tiny and we had to ask them to come and remove one of the twin beds as there was no where to put my child's travel cot (even though they were aware we were bringing one). I personally, couldn't have slept on the single beds, they were as wide as I am (and I'm big but not that big!) and I like to spread out a bit, however, my mum and sister, who both sleep straight found them comfortable. The toilet was tiny - made pulling your trousers up difficult if the door was closed! Shower room was slightly bigger and adequate for our needs, the living area was probably the best bit, good sized table with plenty of seating, tv, fire, and a sofa area. The kitchen was clean and looked to be fairly new - full cutlery/utensils provided. There was also ample storage for us all.
Each area has it's own parking bay - we requested a caravan nearer a bay as my gran has difficulty walking.
I imagine in high season it could be very noisey, we had someone in the next caravan to us for 1 night and we could hear them walking around and the children shouting/playing (not great at midnight) but after that we found that the carvans around us were pretty much empty (we stayed at the beginning of July).
Overall this is a nice location and slightly cheaper than other sites nearer Bournemouth or Poole (both in 20-30 mins driving distance), a lot of the staff were new and clearly hadn't finished their training yet but everything was offered with a smile and all the facilities were clean and tidy, even if some where a little dated.
Summary: If you can get at a good price go
