Advantages: Great weather, great beach & warm sea.

Disadvantages: Long flight

As you fly into Cancun you get a birds eye view of the man made sand spite that has become the major holiday detination known as cancun. the airport isn't very big or modern compared to large British airports like Heathrow and Gatwick. After a short transfer we started to drop off people at the varios resort that all looked like five star. after arriveing at our hotel the room was of the American standard by which i mean everything was big. Big shower, big TV to double beds and a big balcony of the whites sand that has the most blue sea rushing up to meet it. the beach was ceaned every morning so it was always clean. the local shops were all geared up for the tourist who are mainly American. we were staying on an all inclusive basis, which ment that all our food and drinks were included. So we didn't eat out at all but what we did see again was very geared up to the Amercan market too. We went in February and it was very hot just what you want after those long winter months. We visited a Mayan site called "Tulum" the buildings and monuments are so amazing as these were built without any modern diggers, cranes thae we now depend upon. the history of the mayan people is quiet impressive withall the varius gods they followed. The secound site we visited was Xel-ha (Shell-ha) which is a nature reserve, they have a natural water inlet that you can snorkel in with turtles, many different fish and rays. There is also a dolphine experience which was not encluded but looked quiet good. the are a seltion of restrants and fast food sites available .
This is a great location.
