Fiji is a beautiful country. It has a lot to offer as a tropical paradise, as it has amazingly beautiful golden beaches with crystal clear blue sea where you can get up close and personal with the marine life. It is also very secluded and quiet on the islands so you can enjoy a quiet getaway to relax and chill out. I arrived at Nadi airport, which was small, chaotic and hot in the middle of the afternoon. We stayed in Fiji last year for a week and totally fell in love with the place. We actually stayed in the newer man-made resort of Denarau Island which is on the west side of Viti Levu, only 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport. Denarau Island is an area of former mangroves which was cleared and the land reclaimed from the sea over the past 2 decades. It is actually now the largest integrated resort in the South Pacific and boasts a variety of hotels (all the usual names you have heard of) and lots of activities from Tennis and Golf courses to boating and watersports.
